Drying laundry in an apartment is always a hassle. Wherever it is hung - in the bathroom, kitchen, balcony or loggia - this place remains occupied for many hours by rows of ropes weighed down with wet things. So that they do not interfere, they try to fix the ropes, as a rule, higher. However, having got rid of one inconvenience, they acquire another: you have to stand on a chair or stool. And it's not safe anymore.

It would be easier to hang the laundry while standing on the floor, and then raise it to the desired height.

We have developed and manufactured a simple lift - linen "elevator".

The kinematics of the "elevator" (Fig. 1) is designed in such a way that synchronous lifting (and also lowering) of both crossbars is ensured. The lifting cord, running around the pulleys, is wound on a reel with a handle and a stopper. The crossbars are protected from skew by a special anti-skew system, which operates on the principle of a T-square: its cords, stretched between the terminations, run around the rollers installed in the crossbars in pairs. All this allows you to pull the clothesline strong enough, without sagging.

The "elevator" is made of affordable and easily processed materials: guides and crossbars are made of aluminum channel, pulleys, rollers and wheels are made of fluoroplast.

The right and left (Fig. 2) parts of the lift are the same and are, as it were, a mirror image. But not in everything: one of the vertical guides on the right side does not have a large pulley, the lifting cord is fixed here.

Many dimensions of the "elevator" elements are selected depending on the place of its installation, therefore they are not shown in the drawings. The drive of the lift can also be made arbitrary, it all depends on the laundry load (it can even be electrified).

We have been using our "lift" for a long time. It works great and is quite aesthetically pleasing.
