What are the similarities between a calendar and a deck of cards?

There are many calendar matches to be found in a deck of cards. The two colors of the suits correspond to day and night, and the suits themselves correspond to the four seasons. Twelve face cards (4 jacks, queens and kings each) can be likened to months, thirteen different values from two to ace - to lunar cycles, and all 52 cards - to the number of weeks in a year. The sum of the card values, if we take the ace as one, the jack for 11, the queen for 12 and the king for 13, is 364. Adding a joker, we get the number of days in a year, the second joker - the number of days in a leap year.

Where does the tax money go?

Taxes are paid without much joy. And these days there are so many taxes and they are so high that people wonder where the collected money goes. Taxation is the process by which the government receives money from the people in order to pay for those activities that it must carry out in the interests of the people. It is much cheaper and more advantageous to have public schools, streets, fire departments, police forces, and an army than it is for each family to separately maintain roads, educate children, and protect property. The spending of any government gradually increases during the year.

One reason for the rise in costs is the increase in national security spending. Local government spending on public needs is also constantly growing. It is necessary to take better care of the streets and roads. More good schools and institutions of higher learning are needed. People want more hospitals, parks, and other institutions run by city governments.

Income tax is an important source of funds for the activities of the central government. Cities and other localities receive part of the funds from income tax in their budget. Other taxes, such as value added tax, are collected to increase the government's money income.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Accelerometer ST Microelectronics LIS3DHH 26.07.2017

The new accelerometer LIS3DHH was created specifically for use in inclinometers - devices for accurately measuring the angles of an object. To ensure exceptionally high accuracy performance, the LIS3DHH has only one measuring range of ±2.5 g. The relatively large 5mm x 5mm ceramic case serves the same purpose.

The new chip features a low noise level of 45 ?g/vHz and excellent temperature and time stability (<0.4 mg/°C). It is suitable for use in test equipment, for stabilizing antenna platforms and in measuring instruments.

The zero shift for LIS3DHH does not exceed ±60 mg. The microcircuit has an uncalibrated temperature sensor with a resolution of 16 units / degree and a noise of 0.1 ° C (RMS). The operating voltage of LIS3DHH is 1,71 ... 3,6 V, and the current consumption is 2,5 mA.

Features LIS3DHH:

3-axis, ±2.5 g full scale
Ultra-low noise: 5µg/vHz
Excellent temperature stability: <0.4 mg/°C
Output data 16-bit
SPI 4-wire digital interface
Temperature sensor output 12 bit
Embedded FIFO (32 levels deep)
High overload resistance
Temperature -40 °C ... +85 °C
