Where and when was the person who committed the murder in front of witnesses fully acquitted?

In 1921 in Berlin, Turkish-born Soghomon Tehlirian shot a man in front of many witnesses and immediately surrendered to the police. His victim was the former Interior Minister of the Ottoman Empire Talaat Pasha, known as one of the organizers of the Armenian genocide.

Given this, the court fully acquitted Tehlirian, recognizing his actions as committed in a state of passion, and released the killer from custody.

Why does a jellyfish sting?

The jellyfish is one of the strangest life forms found in the sea. First of all, it's not even a fish! She does not have a skeleton, and therefore she is included in a large class of invertebrates.

At 9/10, a jellyfish is made up of a jelly-like substance that makes up basically the stomach cavity. Jellyfish don't have a brain or blood vessels.

There are very tiny jellyfish, but there are also those that reach half a meter in diameter. They also vary in shape and color, and some even become brighter when irritated.

The most interesting type of jellyfish is called "jellyfish". This word comes from the name of the mythological creature Medusa, who had snakes growing on her head instead of hair.

The body of a jellyfish resembles an umbrella, at the edge of which are tentacles and many tiny eyes. The jellyfish's mouth is in the bottom middle.

With its tentacles, the jellyfish stings people so painfully and stings. She has to do this, because in this way she gets her own food. The prey of the jellyfish is the smallest sea creatures, which it stings and paralyzes. After that, the victim with the help of tentacles enters the mouth. Some jellyfish have stinging organs even in the stomach.

Another function of the tentacles is to help the jellyfish swim, although many swim by contracting and expanding the body.

The history of the life of jellyfish is also very interesting. At first, the larvae of the jellyfish swim for a while on their own. Then they attach themselves to seaweed or rocks and turn into a small polyp, which gradually grows and finally takes the form of a jellyfish, breaks off and swims away. Most jellyfish live near the surface of the water, but there are some that live on the bottom of the sea.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The influence of music on the state of memory 26.07.2022

Regular listening to music by older people has a positive effect on brain function and improves memory. This conclusion was reached by a group of therapists, neurologists and geriatricians led by Psyche Louis, director of the Music Visualization and Neural Dynamics Laboratory.

During the study, volunteers aged 54 to 89 were asked to listen to a music playlist daily for an hour, tailored to their preferences. Participants of the experiment kept diaries describing their state of health and impressions. Scientists measured the parameters of brain activity for each musical session.

Listening to music has been found to improve communication between the auditory sensory system and the brain structures associated with the reward system. Music sessions affected brain activity by touching the medial prefrontal cortex. It is known that a reduction in the volume of this zone leads to a disturbance in the perception of events, the development of depression, and in old age - to functional disorders inherent in dementia, including memory impairment.

Listening to music familiar to the participants in the experiment and loved by them had the greatest effect, especially if the songs were chosen for the playlist by the volunteers themselves.

The authors of the study indicated that regular listening to music improves memory, which can be used to prevent disorders of this brain function.
