What is beer?

Beer is a low-alcohol drink that man has been making and drinking for thousands of years. Beer brewing starts with grain. The main grain for brewing is barley, although rice is sometimes used. The grain is mixed with water and left in a warm room to germinate. After a week, the germinated grains are dried in an oven and germination stops. Partially germinated grain is called malt. Malt is mixed with water and boiled to form a sweet-tasting liquid called wort. The grain of the hop plant is added to the wort and the resulting mixture is boiled again.

Hops give beer its specific taste. Then all solids are filtered and yeast is added. Yeast organisms develop on the sugar in the wort and produce alcohol as a waste product. This process of converting sugar into alcohol is called fermentation. During fermentation, carbon dioxide is produced, which creates bubbles in the beer.

Beer is poured into large containers, where it stands for about 6 weeks. Then it is filtered again and poured into barrels, bottles or cans. From start to finish, the brewing process takes up to 3 months. Bottled or canned beer is pasteurized to prevent sourness.

8-core processors on ARM big.LITTLE 23.03.2013

Samsung Electronics has announced its intention to launch a new generation of Exynos 5 Octa processors for mobile devices from the second quarter of 2013.

Exynos 5 Octa has a total of 8 cores and is made with ARM big.LITTLE technology. ARM big.LITTLE technology involves a combination of two processors: one processor with Cortex-A15 cores and the second with Cortex-A7 cores. Each of them is 4-core.

Processors with Cortex-A15 and Cortex-A7 cores work alternately, depending on the tasks, and are not switched on in parallel. For this reason, Exynos 5 Octa cannot be considered a true 8-core processor, said Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs.
