What is a heart attack?

What is called a heart attack (heart attack) is one of the most common causes of death in the Western world. In three cases out of four, the victim is a male, usually between fifty and seventy years of age. A typical heart attack is caused by coronary thrombosis. Many call it simply thrombosis.

This disease begins in the coronary arteries, two blood vessels that supply the heart with blood. When one of these arteries becomes blocked, the blood supply to part of the heart is cut off. Part of the tissue in this part of the heart begins to degenerate and die, as if it had been injured. When one coronary artery becomes blocked, small branches of another artery take over its tasks for a while. After some time, most of the parts of the heart cut off from the blood supply receive the blood they need.

If the second artery is able to do the work for two, then the person remains alive. Fortunately, in most cases, the second artery is able to do this job, helping the heart cope with stress during this period of time.

For many, a heart attack begins after increased physical exertion, nervous breakdown, extreme cold, excess food - in all cases when the heart has to work harder than usual. All this is not always the cause of a heart attack, but there is still a relationship.

However, in many cases, a heart attack can occur when a person is in a calm state. Symptoms of a heart attack usually include chest pain. But pain can also be felt in the arms, neck, or left shoulder. There is sweating and shortness of breath. The victim of an attack may turn pale and be in shock, and the pulse may become very weak. When these symptoms appear, you should call a doctor.

Random interesting fact from the Great Encyclopedia:

What do wasps eat?

Almost all insects have curious ways of rearing their offspring, but few of them show such skill in this matter as wasps. Some wasps build little mud houses for their babies. Others make paper nests. Some dig holes in the ground, and some wasps gnaw holes in a tree. When the house is built, the mother wasp goes out in search of food in order to create supplies in the house.

Hungry wasps are very picky eaters, some only eat spiders, some beetles, others flies, and many wasps eat nothing but live food.

Females of each species travel long distances in search of the right insects. They then seize them with their strong jaws and gently insert a venomous stinger into the nerve centers of the insects. This poison does not kill, but only completely paralyzes the insect, and therefore its meat is kept fresh until the young wasps want to taste it.

Wasps belong to the same group of Hymenoptera as bees and ants. Their diverse species are divided into two groups. Some of them come together to build housing and provide food for their offspring. Single wasps exist on their own. These two groups differ in the position of the wings: collectivist wasps spread their wings like a fan, while solitary wasps lay them on their backs.

All wasps look alike. They have four transparent wings and three pairs of legs. Females have long thin stingers at the back of the body. Their mouths are adapted for both chewing and sucking, as wasps feed on fruit juices or other insects. Some wasps feed exclusively on honey.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Apacer AH650 Flash Drive with Capacitive Fingerprint Sensor 02.01.2016

Apacer has launched the AH650 flash drive. A key feature of the device is support for fingerprint authentication using the built-in fingerprint sensor. The sensor is made not in the form of a strip along which you need to run your finger, but in the form of a platform in which it is enough to press the fingertip at any angle.

According to the manufacturer, the AH650 is the first drive with a capacitive fingerprint sensor. The new fingerprint recognition technology is said to feature high recognition speed and accuracy while being more user-friendly.

The fingerprint serves as a key to a hidden, secure part of the drive's memory. In total, the drive remembers up to ten fingerprints - eight for users and two for administrators who can add and remove users.

The USB 3.0 interface is used to connect to a PC. The speed in read mode reaches 130 MB / s. The manufacturer offers gold and silver versions of the drive with a capacity of 32 and 64 GB.
