Where did the Indians come to America from?

The first inhabitants of America came there so long ago that we know much less than we would like about their history. Most researchers, however, believe that events unfolded as follows. Approximately 12 years ago, a group of hunters on foot wandered into unfamiliar lands, chasing herds of deer and elk. These lands lay on the territory of present-day Eastern Siberia. Having reached Chukotka, the hunters managed to cross the narrow strait that separates Asia from North America and now bears the name of the Russian navigator Bering.

Many other nomads followed them over the following millennia. They went on a long journey to unknown lands in small groups, in fact even families. Therefore, despite the fact that they all came from the same region and once belonged to the same people, over tens of centuries the paths of these groups diverged. The members of the various groups, which gradually became tribes, differed from each other in language, appearance, customs, and the way they earned their livelihood and settled in new conditions.

However, in their appearance there were undoubtedly common features: straight black hair, protruding cheekbones, narrow eyes. All of them had rather dark skin, but differed in shade. Among the representatives of some tribes, it slightly shimmered in red, so Europeans often called these people redskins. They had basically the same tools of war and labor, but they used different materials for their manufacture, depending on local conditions, the level of development and the way of life. The differences between the tribes arose mainly due to different conditions in their habitats.

In general, five main centers of settlement of ancient tribes in North America can be distinguished: the northwest coast, the California region, the southwest, the eastern forests and the prairies. The tribes that settled in one of these regions were very different from the others, although for Europeans they were all Indians.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Flexible and resilient power supplies 10.10.2014

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have discovered that graphene can be used to create flexible and elastic power supplies that will be in demand in wearable electronics.

Scientists fastened pieces of graphene into a sheet and crumpled it, similar to how a sheet of paper is crumpled. "Crumpled graphene paper" has proven to be a suitable candidate for use in supercapacitors because it has a large surface area relative to the volume it occupies.

It is important that the "paper" is not damaged and does not lose its qualities even with significant deformation. For example, it can be stretched to 800% of its original size, or crumpled and straightened again 1000 times.

The developers confirmed the viability of their ideas in practice by making a prototype of an ionistor in which graphene electrodes were separated by a dielectric layer, the role of which was played by a hydrogel with suitable properties.
The new power sources could be inexpensive and easy to manufacture, the researchers said. In addition to supercapacitors, the described approach is also suitable for other flexible electronic components, such as sensors.

Well, yes, they just took it and ran after the deer, and ended up on another continent. But for some reason, these allen are not on that mainland. Yes, and the pyramids with other thousands of megaliths around the globe were also hewn by reindeer herders with a bone chisel.
