Focus Description:

Aces are shuffled in a deck, and then they end up together.

Focus secret:

You lay out four aces on the table and ask the spectator to put them back into the deck, while you yourself cover them with other cards. It's easy to do. When everyone looks at the aces, you secretly hide three cards in the palm of your right hand and after the aces are placed on top of the deck, you cover the deck with your right hand and thereby put three cards on the aces.

You tell the audience that you are now spreading the aces in different parts of the deck, while taking up the top four cards, the bottom of which is actually an ace. You can't afford to fan out, but you let the audience see that the bottom card is an ace, and they have no reason not to trust you. After placing the cards on the table, you lay them out in a deck, remembering that the last card must be placed on top.

Now you are asking to remove the deck. When this is done, take both halves in your left hand, separating them with your little finger. Your aces are now at the top of the bottom half.

You ask the audience where they want to find aces - at the top, bottom, or in the middle of the deck. If the audience chooses the middle, then you only need to pull out your little finger and ask the audience to scan the deck to find the aces. If the audience wants to see the aces at the top, then you use the volt to move them up.

It is much more difficult to move aces down, and if you are not confident in yourself, you may not give the audience such a choice. To bring the aces down, you must push the top four cards of the bottom half forward a little with your left thumb and place your little finger under them. Place your ring finger on them so you can roll with or without these cards. If you need to transfer these cards to the top, then release the little finger and this connect the aces with the top cards of the lower half.

After that, you do a Volt using your ring finger instead of your little finger. If you need to move the cards down, then pull out the ring finger and this connect the aces to the bottom of the upper part. Again you do a volt, than you translate this part down.

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The threat of space debris to the Earth's magnetic field 01.05.2024

More and more often we hear about an increase in the amount of space debris surrounding our planet. However, it is not only active satellites and spacecraft that contribute to this problem, but also debris from old missions. The growing number of satellites launched by companies like SpaceX creates not only opportunities for the development of the Internet, but also serious threats to space security. Experts are now turning their attention to the potential implications for the Earth's magnetic field. Dr. Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics emphasizes that companies are rapidly deploying satellite constellations, and the number of satellites could grow to 100 in the next decade. The rapid development of these cosmic armadas of satellites can lead to contamination of the Earth's plasma environment with dangerous debris and a threat to the stability of the magnetosphere. Metal debris from used rockets can disrupt the ionosphere and magnetosphere. Both of these systems play a key role in protecting the atmosphere and maintaining ... >>

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Virtual keyboard on beams of light 22.04.2002

CeBIT presents a full-sized virtual keyboard for mobile devices, developed by the Israeli company Developer VKB.

The image of the keys is projected directly onto the surface of the table. Rays of light register hand movements. Information is transmitted to the device to which the "keyboard" is connected. The same projector can replace a mouse.

The creators suggest that the new device will find demand among users of compact devices that do not have a keyboard. It can be connected to pocket and tablet computers, mobile phones, and possibly even laptops.
