EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Card replacement (six ways). Focus Secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues The first method We take the deck in the left hand as for dealing cards. We hold the card we want to replace in our right hand between the index and ring fingers. The card we want to replace with should be at the top of the deck. To do this, move it a little forward with your left thumb so that it protrudes a little relative to the rest of the cards. We quickly bring our hands closer to each other and at this moment we put the card that we hold in our right hand under the deck. To do this, we open the middle, ring fingers and little finger, and with the index finger we free the way for her as soon as she reaches the deck. Simultaneously with this movement, the thumb and forefinger of the right hand should take the card protruding beyond the edges of the deck. Due to this, when the hands are separated, this card takes the place of the one that was in the right hand. A slight turn to the right or left will help you hide the quick connection of the hands. Sometimes it is better to move only the right hand, sometimes you can move the left hand, then we hold the deck in this hand, and the right hand with the card remains motionless. You should be good at both card replacement methods. Depending on which direction you turn to put the card on the table, you choose how to replace the card. second method This method is worse than the previous one, but can be used until the magician has gained sufficient skill in the first method. We hold the deck vertically facing the audience. The card to be replaced is at the bottom and is clearly visible to the spectators. The card to be replaced is at the top of the deck. We hold the deck with both hands, and both cards protrude slightly to the right on all the others. The front or bottom card should be between the index and ring fingers, and the back or top card between the thumb and forefinger of the right hand. You ask the audience to remember the bottom card. Turn the deck face down and immediately push the top card with your right hand. Spectators will be sure that this is the map they saw from below. A third method We hold the replacement card with the thumb, index and ring fingers of the right hand, face down. The thumb is on top, and the rest are on the bottom of the deck. We hold the deck in the left hand as if dealing. The card to be replaced must be on top. Quickly bring the hands together, pushing the top card with the thumb of the right hand, and at the same time slide the card from the right hand on top of the deck. Now this card and the one that was on top before are between the thumb, index and middle fingers of the right hand. We slightly press the top card with the thumb of the left hand to push it back, and quickly bring forward the right hand, slightly pressing two fingers on the front side of the second card. Thus, we push it forward instead of the top card. With careful performance, the audience will never notice the substitution. The main difficulty is to put the card you are holding on top of the deck. Once this is done, everything else is easy. The reason for shifting the card is easy to find. You can directly ask the audience to pay attention to some of your actions that you will not do. For example, you say: "Pay attention that I never put a card in the deck for a moment" - and at that moment bring your hands together and make a card change. Your actions are perceived by the audience as just an expressive gesture, and the substitution of the card in front of their eyes does not arouse even a shadow of suspicion in anyone. This method requires simple naturalness, not speed of execution. Bringing the hands together is not masked, it is just given a different meaning. The fourth way We take a deck of cards face down in the left hand, as when dealing cards. The card to be replaced is placed on top of the deck, and the card to be replaced is placed right behind it. With the thumb of the left hand, we move the top card forward by about half its width, leaving it at the fingertips. Half of the bottom card remains open. Push this second card away with your thumb so that its outer edge touches the inner edge of the top card. We press the second card with the thumb down so that its other edge is above the level of the top card. After that, we again push it into place, but it will fall on the top card. Fifth way This method allows you to change several cards at a time. It is good to use when you need to have a certain number of specific cards. Hide all the cards you need to replace in your left palm, face down. Take the cards you wish to have with the thumb and forefinger of your right hand. Everything is done in the same way as with one card. With the right hand, we cover the cards along and hide them in the palm of this hand, while you will take cards from the other hand. We throw the replacement cards face down on the table. Sixth way This method allows you to replace a card without using a deck. The selected card is returned to the deck. With the help of a volt, we translate it up and hide it in the palm of our hand. After that, you can give someone to shuffle the deck, and when it is returned to you, then pull out any card. This card is held between the thumb and forefinger of the right hand, in which the card is hidden. Tell the audience that this is the chosen card. The audience will start to disagree with you, and you will be embarrassed and ask if the chooser is sure that the card is not the right one. At the same time, you take the card face down between the thumb and forefinger of your left hand, just as you held it with your right. Now the hidden card is directly above the one shown, even at a short distance they will be perceived as one card. After that, you can say that since everyone is sure that this is not the right card, then you just have to turn it into the right card. You ask the spectator which card he chose and wait for his answer. When you hear it, then continue: "I will put the wrong card in my hand and turn it into yours, or I can turn it into your hands. Please hold it face down. Turn!" The whole point here is that at the words "to your hand" you put both cards for a moment in the palm of your left hand and deftly push out the top card that you need, and hide the other in your hand, lowered to the side. Sometimes, after asking the spectator for a card, one can say that they are probably mistaken, because such a card was always in the pocket of such and such a spectator. You confirm your words by lowering your left hand, in which the card is hidden, into the pocket of the spectator and pulling out a card from his pocket.
