Calculate low power welding transformer, designed to operate on AC 220 V, 50 Hz and providing the maximum welding current IМ = 150 A.

Maximum arc voltage, corresponding to the maximum welding current, can be calculated by the formula:

As mentioned earlier, the open circuit voltage Uxx (voltage on the secondary winding of an unloaded transformer) should be 1,8-2,5 more than the maximum arc voltage, i.e.

With increasing Uxx improves stability and initial ignition of the arc. However, GOST95-77E limits the maximum operating voltage Uхх at the level of 80 V. Let's choose the open-circuit voltage Uxx= 65 V, which will provide the best conditions for arcing and does not contradict the requirements of GOST.

For further calculations, let's assume that our magnetic material has a maximum induction Bт = 1,42 T

Will find overall power of the welding transformer Pг:

According to the well-known formula, we determine:

where J is the current density in the windings (8 A/mm2 for copper (Cu), 5 A/mm2 for aluminum (Al) and 6,5 A/mm2 for a combined copper-aluminum (CuAl) winding); F - network frequency, Hz; TOo - window filling factor (0,33-0,4); Toс - steel fill factor (0,95).

Let the primary winding be made of copper wire, and the secondary - aluminum, then:

For rod transformers, the following are recommended: size ratio:

where

If Z = 4, then From here you can find core size a:

We choose a \u4d XNUMX cm. Knowing the size a, we find dimensions c, b, h:

Define EMF of one turn of the transformer:

Number of turns of the secondary winding:

Cross-section of aluminum wire of the secondary winding:

(you can use an aluminum bar with a section of 5x6 mm2).

Number of turns of the primary winding:

Will find maximum primary current:

Cross-section of the copper wire of the primary winding:

Since the transformer is rod, the primary (and secondary) winding is on two coils:

  • if the coils are connected in parallel, then they must contain 230 turns of PEV-2 wire 1,9 mm (2,827 mm2);
  • if the coils are connected in series, then they should contain 115 turns of PEV-2 wire 2,7 mm (5,7 mm2).

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Implanted brain stimulator 30.04.2024

In recent years, scientific research in the field of neurotechnology has made enormous progress, opening new horizons for the treatment of various psychiatric and neurological disorders. One of the significant achievements was the creation of the smallest implanted brain stimulator, presented by a laboratory at Rice University. Called Digitally Programmable Over-brain Therapeutic (DOT), this innovative device promises to revolutionize treatments by providing more autonomy and accessibility to patients. The implant, developed in collaboration with Motif Neurotech and clinicians, introduces an innovative approach to brain stimulation. It is powered through an external transmitter using magnetoelectric power transfer, eliminating the need for wires and large batteries typical of existing technologies. This makes the procedure less invasive and provides more opportunities to improve patients' quality of life. In addition to its use in treatment, resist ... >>

The perception of time depends on what one is looking at 29.04.2024

Research in the field of the psychology of time continues to surprise us with its results. Recent discoveries by scientists from George Mason University (USA) turned out to be quite remarkable: they discovered that what we look at can greatly influence our sense of time. During the experiment, 52 participants took a series of tests, estimating the duration of viewing various images. The results were surprising: the size and detail of the images had a significant impact on the perception of time. Larger, less cluttered scenes created the illusion of time slowing down, while smaller, busier images gave the feeling of time speeding up. Researchers suggest that visual clutter or detail overload can make it difficult to perceive the world around us, which in turn can lead to faster perception of time. Thus, it was shown that our perception of time is closely related to what we look at. Larger and smaller ... >>

Alcohol leads to cancer 17.01.2010

The French National Institute of Oncology published a report. According to studies, daily consumption of one glass of dry wine increases the likelihood of colon cancer by 9%, breast - by 10%, esophagus - by 28%, oral cavity and pharynx - by as much as 168%.

These conclusions are obtained by summarizing the results of 500 studies conducted in different countries.

The first competent calculation that came across to me on the Internet! [up] And then the rest will climb into the wilds of the forest and it is not clear what they want to calculate! [lol]

Very intelligible and understandable. Thanks to the author, rarely when they paint like that.

I am a doctor by profession, electronics is just a hobby, but after viewing the article I have to say this: "He who thinks clearly, writes clearly!" Respect and respect to the author!
