Focus Description:

We select four aces from the deck and put them on the table. We take two red aces and defiantly put them in the middle of the deck, which we hold in our left hand, opening it like a book. Unnoticed by the public, we put the little finger between the aces. Then we put the rest of the aces down and up, drawing the attention of the audience to their suit.

Putting one of the black aces up, slightly unclench the left hand and, turning the deck up, transfer the lower ace to the front side of the deck. Again we return the deck to its previous position and at the same time with this movement we make a volt. Since the halves of the deck have changed places, the aces have also changed places. Black aces are in the middle of the deck, and red aces are at the bottom and top. But we believe that it is not worth showing it to the public right away.

Focus secret:

You, as always, must hide from the audience the moment of real replacement. So again you have to ask where the aces are. If some spectator has forgotten this and asks you to show them, then in this case, after the volt, you should not connect both halves of the deck, but separate them with your little finger. Now you will be taken out of a difficult situation by a repeated volt. By doing it, you will return the cards to their original position and show them to the audience. After that, you say that you will now order the aces to switch places - make a quick movement with your right hand forward and at the same time perform a volt, if you had to return the cards to their previous position before.

By turning the cards to face the audience, you show that the transformation actually happened. Showing black aces in the middle, you again separate them with your little finger and when you close the deck of cards, which now lies face down, you make a volt. After that, with a spectacular gesture, put the deck face down on the table.

To the audience you say:

"You saw that I made the aces switch places. You may not have noticed exactly when I did it, so I will repeat everything slowly. I can not even touch the deck with my hands, just say: "Voila!" - and it's done. You see how simple it is. Any viewer can check what I did."

Everyone can see that the focus is really a success.

And you say again:

"It seems to me that this time you did not understand how I did it. I want to teach you how to do this trick."

You give two red aces to one spectator and two black aces to another spectator. Taking the deck in your left hand, you ask the spectator to your left to place one ace on top of the deck and another on the bottom. Then you ask another spectator to put his aces in the middle of the deck, which you open in the middle with your right hand to do this.

Next, you do not lower the top of the deck to the bottom, as it seems to the audience, but do a volt, Forcing the bottom to slide to the left. This movement of yours should be well masked by a half-turn of your body to the left. That's why you need two spectators with cards. When the second pair of aces is placed in the middle of the deck, they will be between the other two aces. And the public thinks they are at the top and bottom of the deck. Rat mutual assistance 22.05.2015

Scientists have established that nobility and empathy are inherent in the body of living beings from birth: the moral attitudes of society are secondary. Experiments to prove this were carried out on rats.

The ability of representatives of the world of fauna to empathy has been studied for a long time. So, in 2011, researchers from the University of Illinois at Chicago discovered the craving of rats to help each other. Some of the experimental rodents were placed in traps, and their "free" comrades made efforts and opened the latches. At the same time, American scientists concluded that rats do this in order not to get bored alone.

A new series of tests was conducted by specialists from Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan. The results are published in the journal Animal Cognition.

The experimental site was a specially designed box consisting of two isolated sections. Water was poured into one of the compartments, placing a rat there. These animals are known to be extremely uncomfortable in the water. The rat could not escape on its own, being in this section - all the possibilities for this were in the rat from the adjacent dry room. A few days after the start of the experiment, the rodents began to open the door, helping the rats floundering in the water. Moreover, the rats who had previously been in a water trap rushed to the aid of their comrade faster than those who had not yet encountered such a situation.

These experiments consolidated the observations of the Americans. The Japanese went further and refuted earlier conclusions. In those experiments, when both experimental rats were in adjacent dry compartments and did not suffer, they did not open the door - that is, they did not need friends as such.

Complicating the task, the scientists put the "dry" rats before a choice: either help a brother who was in the water, or receive a sweet reward. The results were amazing: in most cases, from 50% to 80%, the rats ignored the door, behind which lay a chocolate bar, instead opening the way to salvation for a comrade.
