Focus Description:
The magician takes out multi-colored handkerchiefs one after another from a completely empty tube!
Focus secret:
1. Take an empty bottle of dishwashing liquid. Cut both ends so that it looks like a tube:
2. Cut off the bottom of the plastic cup with scissors, approximately 5 mm from the bottom:
3. Place the cup with the cut bottom up in the tube at the level of its edge. If necessary, trim the top of the cup to fit in the tube:
4. Paint the inside of the tube and cup with black paint. Let them dry:
5. Apply glue to the wider rim of the cup, place it in the tube as in step 3, and press well so that it sticks firmly:
6. Now you can decorate the magic tube from the outside. Cover it with colored paper, glue patterns, stickers, or paint it with bright colors:
Performance:
1. First, take several silk scarves and tie their ends one by one. Wrap the resulting “chain” of scarves around the top edge of the tube. At the same time, tuck it between the edges of the cup and tube so that they are not visible from the outside.
2. Before picking up the tube and demonstrating its emptiness, extend the tip of the scarf and hide it under your thumb:
3. Show the audience the "empty" tube with the "secret" end facing you. Spectators should not see it:
4. Wave a magic wand over the pipe, say “magic” words or scatter gold dust over the pipe:
5. Now suddenly pull the handkerchiefs out of the pipe, taking it in your other hand. With your first hand, continue to hold the tip of the scarf hidden under your thumb:

Artificial leather for touch emulation
15.04.2024
In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men
14.04.2024
The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
Random news from the Archive Connecting with loved ones helps you live longer

Researchers from the University of California (USA) have figured out how to extend the life of our parents and even make it better. It turns out that loneliness plays a key role in accelerating the aging process. If a person in years feels lonely, forgotten by everyone, the risk of death increases.
American scientists observed the condition of 1600 elderly people with an average age of 71 years. Health status and socioeconomic status were not taken into account. Only loneliness or, conversely, regular contact with relatives was considered.
Over 6 years of observation, 23% of the single participants and 14% of elderly people who were often visited by relatives died. The authors of the work note that the older a person becomes, the more important relationships with the family are for him.
Therefore, it is extremely important to remember about mutual attention and care. Just a few hours of communication a week, at least one phone call a day, and you will increase the chances of parents and grandparents to live longer lives.
