EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Coin and apple. Focus Secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: The performer asks one of the spectators to borrow a fifteen-kopeck coin for a while and notice it: make a line anywhere. He places the coin on a handkerchief spread out on the table (Fig. 47, A). Then he lifts the corners of the handkerchief and puts them one by one on the coin, closing it. He asks one of the spectators to come and touch the middle of the handkerchief to make sure that the coin is in place. After that, the magician gives the audience a simple knife for inspection, invites one of them to choose any of the apples lying on the vase and hold it in their hands. He takes the middle of the scarf with both hands (Fig. 47, B) and quickly unfolds it. The coin is gone. The handkerchief is handed over to the audience for inspection. The magician shows both hands - they are empty - and, taking a knife, asks the viewer holding the apple to pass the fruit to him. Taking an apple, the performer cuts it in half and looks in surprise at the cut, and then, cutting it to the end, takes out a coin from there. After wiping it with a handkerchief, he gives it to the spectator-owner and asks to make sure that this is really the same, previously marked coin.
Props: Several apples. Simple knife. A small piece of wax. Handkerchief. Focus secret: The secret of the trick is simple, but it must be done very carefully. The coin received from the viewer is replaced by another, with which the number is performed. At the right moment, a real coin, attached to the knife with wax, appears in the apple. Having received the marked coin from the spectator, the illusionist immediately exchanges it in his hand for his own. To one of its sides he attaches a small piece of wax no larger than two match heads; wax should be soft. The magician puts his coin on the handkerchief so that no wax is visible. The viewer checks the coin in the handkerchief without unwrapping it. After examining the knife, the performer takes it into his hand, where the viewer's coin is clamped. He discreetly attaches a ball of wax to it (while the audience examines the knife), then covertly attaches a coin to one side of the knife, pressing the wax to the blade near the handle. After showing the handkerchief empty, he quietly removes and hides the double of the coin, and gives the handkerchief for inspection. With a knife, he makes an incision in the apple and slightly opens it. Cutting the fruit completely, the performer inserts a coin into the cut and leaves it there, taking out the knife. He takes out the coin, wipes it off, removing the wax, and returns it to the owner, who certifies its authenticity. A knife with a coin, with a certain dexterity, can be shown to the audience in such a way that it seems to them that they see it from all sides. In fact, they only show one side. The knife during the display is not rotated 180 degrees, but a full turn. If you do it skillfully, the audience will not notice the coin. If desired, you can get a coin from any fruit or even from potatoes. Author: Vadimov A.A.
