Focus Description:
This is a simple trick. A ring, put on a pencil, mystically rises along it. You will need some training, but it's worth it.
Focus secret:
Using clear adhesive tape, stick a thin thread to the top of the pencil, to the metal part that is under the rubber band.
Hold the pencil in your hand with the rubber band up. Attach the other end of the thread to a button or belt buckle. You will need to secure the other end of the thread to your body. If you want to use a button, you can make a loop in the thread and wrap it around the button.
If you wish, you can attach the thread to the belt buckle. Of course, you can attach the thread wherever you want.
You will have to experiment a bit with the length. You will need the thread to be fairly tight when you hold your hand away from you.
After fixing the thread, hold the pencil in your hand as shown in the picture. The rubber should be on top.
Lower the ring on the pencil until it touches your hand.
Slowly moving your hand away from your body, you will tighten the thread. You will see the ring start to slowly move up the pencil.
The picture shows how your hand moves, causing the ring to rise.
To lower the ring, simply bring your hand close to your body, this will loosen the thread and the ring will lower.

Artificial leather for touch emulation
15.04.2024
In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

14.04.2024
The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

14.01.2013
A group of geneticists from 14 countries (a total of 300 scientists took part in the project) was able to read the genome of the most common tomato variety used for ketchup.
A tomato has 35 genes, about the same as a human. The cultivated tomato differs from the wild progenitor by only six-tenths of a percent of its genes. And from the potato, which is part of the same nightshade family, eight percent of the genes.
