EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Shrinking cards. Focus Secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: In the hand of the illusionist are several ordinary cards, which he opens in front of the audience with a fan. Then he blocks the fan for a moment with the palm of his free hand and immediately reveals the cards. They have shrunk by half. The performer also reveals these reduced cards in a fan - even smaller size. Literally for a second, the performer covers this reduced card fan with his palm and opens it again. And again the cards were halved. But the performer continues to demonstrate to the surprised spectators a further reduction in cards. And in his hands they decrease to the point that they become barely visible, and then completely dissolve in the air (Fig. 85, A).
Focus secret: The number of cards in this trick can be from three to five or even eight. Five or eight cards can be taken when the trick has been perfected. Its demonstration should go, as they say, without a hitch and without a hitch. To begin with, three satin cards are taken, completely clean, white on both sides. On one side of each of them draw a standard card figure. Thus, one card will be with the image of a jack of clubs, the second - an ace of diamonds, and the third - dozens of hearts. Now each card is folded in half so that the drawing remains inside, and its white side serves as a cover. Each folded card will look like a small book. On the first front page of the cover of each of these books, a figure of the same card is drawn as inside. Before us are the same three cards again, but half the size. Now each double-folded card is folded in turn again in half so that the second drawing remains inside. The last page of the cover, folded in half, will serve as the cover of the now quadruple folded card. Then, on each first page of the cover of each card folded in four, a figure of the same card is drawn. And we will again see the same three cards, only reduced by four. If we unfold each card again in full size, then we will see on one side the three most ordinary cards - a jack, an ace and a ten, and turning them back and laying them out on the table, we will see that each of them will be divided, as it were, into four rectangles . The upper two are occupied by a drawing half the size of its main card, and in the lower left rectangle is the same figure, reduced by four. And only the lower right rectangle on this side of each card remains white, without any pattern (Fig. 85, E). Now let's put aside two cards and leave only one ten of hearts, which lies in front of us with its secret side up. In the center of the white rectangle, left without a card pattern, a small piece of fishing line, thread or nipple gum (1-2 cm) is attached diagonally at the ends, which will serve as a holder of three more secret cards. They are made half the size of a quarter-folded card. Drawings of the same three cards are applied to them. Then the cards of the second set are folded and placed in a secret holder located on the white rectangle of the secret side of the ten of the first set. In the second set there will also be a secret ten, on the back of which there is a rubber holder. A third set of cards is inserted into this holder, half the size of the second. Now, when all the sets are distributed in their secret places, in each ten of a larger format, the main three cards should be added together, placing them in the following sequence: I - jack of clubs, II - ace of diamonds, III - ten of hearts with already "charged" in her with two smaller sets of cards. Now it remains only to put these three cards before the performance on the illusion table next to the "magic" wand, which will certainly be needed during the demonstration of this trick. Let's take a look at the demo. The performer takes three cards from the table so that the "charge" with two smaller sets of cards is at the bottom, hidden by the index and middle fingers of the left hand. The thumb is located at this time on the first card (jack), facing the audience. Holding the cards in this way, the performer spreads them out in a small fan with his right hand. Then, making a smooth movement with his right hand in the air, he covers the cards with his palm. At this moment, sliding down on them, he touches the edges of the cards and bends them forward. Cards can be easily folded in half. The thumb of the left hand works quickly and firmly presses the top half of the cards to the bottom. At this time, on all three cards, the drawing will be in a horizontal position. Therefore, before removing the right hand from the cards already folded in half, it is necessary to turn the left hand with the cards somewhat to the left. Then the audience will see these three cards with the figures in the desired vertical position. At this time, you can remove your right hand from them, and then unfold the fan again, but already consisting of cards halved. At the same time, you must always remember about the top ten with a secret "charging" on the back. It should always be under the two fingers of the left hand. Focus demonstration continues. The performer again covers the fan with his right hand and, touching the edges of the cards, bends forward again and folds the cards in half again (that is, four times). Then, before opening the reduced cards to the audience, you must immediately move your left hand slightly to the left, and the drawings will take a vertical position (we should not forget that the drawings on them are in a horizontal position). It remains to make a small fan of these cards folded four times. Having shown it to the audience, it is necessary to put the cards together one by one in the original order: jack, ace, ten. Then, as if equalizing them, hide these folded cards in the clenched palm of the right hand, simultaneously pushing out the second set of smaller cards from the secret holder with the index finger of the left hand, and pinch them between the index and thumb of the left hand. Now it remains to approach the illusion table for the "magic" wand. This is necessary in order to free the right hand from the already unnecessary first set of cards. Taking the “magic” wand from the table, the performer opens his right palm, drops these cards from it into a box or cylinder standing on the table, and calmly continues the demonstration of the trick. He makes a circular motion with the "magic" wand near the two fingers of his left hand, in which the second set of cards is clamped, and with the sliding movements of these fingers opens a tiny fan of three cards of the second set. He puts the “magic” wand on the table, and shows the cards that make up the fan to the audience each separately and folds them again in their original order. At the same time, he performs the already familiar manipulation: he holds the second set of cards in his right palm, leaving the last, third set of very tiny cards in two fingers of his left. Then the performer again approaches the illusion table, takes the wand and drops the second set in the same place where the first was dropped. Now between the index and thumb of the left hand is the last, third set of secret cards. The performer's right hand with the "magic" wand makes its circular motion over the fingers of the left hand, and they show a very microscopic fan of the last three cards. The performer puts the "magic" wand in its original place on the illusion table. Then he shows the audience each crumb-card separately and folds it into its original position. Pretending that he equalizes the formation of these almost invisible cards, the performer hides them in his right palm. All the attention of the audience at this moment is focused on the two fingers of the left hand, where, in their opinion, these tiny cards are located. And the performer again approaches the table for his "magic" wand. Taking it, he simultaneously discards the last set, as well as the first two. The final movement of the "magic" wand over the two fingers of the left hand follows, with which the performer rubs each other at this time. He separates his fingers, opens his entire left palm. The baby cards vanished into thin air. We recommend interesting articles Section Spectacular tricks and their clues: See other articles Section Spectacular tricks and their clues.
