Focus Description:

The magician takes an ordinary rope from the table (you can let the audience see this). Then he folds it in half, invites one of the spectators to the stage and offers to cut it with the most ordinary scissors. Then the magician ties the ends in a knot and winds the rope around his left hand. After that, he asks the viewer to take hold of the end of the rope and unwind it. And the audience sees that the rope is whole again.

Focus secret:

Everything is simple here, you just need to fold the rope correctly. One end of the rope is clamped between the middle and index fingers of the left hand, and the other end is between the index and thumb. With your right hand, take the middle of the rope and bring it to your left hand. Quickly and imperceptibly pull out the part of the rope, the end of which is between the thumb and forefinger, and slightly lift it. At this point, the viewer must cut the rope.

Focus The rope remained intact

At the time when the viewer cuts the rope, the magician throws down the two ends of the whole rope, and the piece remaining in his hand ties it in a knot and shows it to the audience. Spectators see that the rope is cut and tied in a knot. Then, when you wind the rope around your left hand, pull the knot off the rope with your right hand and discreetly put it in your pocket. And the viewer will unwind the whole rope.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The soil under solar panels receives less solar heat 15.07.2016

Scientists from the UK waters led by Alona Armstrong investigated the effect of solar panels on the soil on which they are installed.

Comparing the area directly below the array with the area between the arrays and a control site with no batteries at all, the scientists found that the soil under the solar arrays received less solar heat.

The average temperature under the solar battery was lower. In summer, the temperature difference reaches 5,2°C, in winter - 1,7°C. Humidity also differs. In other words, there is a certain microclimate. As a result, in the shaded area, there is less species diversity and activity of living organisms. According to scientists, this may make adjustments to carbon metabolism, since organisms in shaded soil hold less carbon dioxide, which as a result is released into the atmosphere. Meanwhile, it is known that the introduction of solar panels and other generators of electricity from renewable sources is associated with a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.

Scientists intend to conduct similar observations in other climatic zones in order to understand the effect of solar panels on the ecosystem, and to develop recommendations for their optimal design and placement.
