EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Glass with milk. Focus secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: The performer takes a glass filled with milk from his table. The audience is convinced that there really is milk in the glass when the magician splashes it a little. Then he takes a metal cylinder from the table and shows it to the audience. The audience sees that the cylinder is through and has no secrets: the performer passes a flower through it, which easily passes and pierces the floor. Holding a glass of milk in his hand, the performer puts a cylinder on it, covers it with his free hand and turns it upside down. Then he goes to the audience, approaches the front row, takes his hand away from the bottom of the cylinder and pretends to want to spray the audience. Those, of course, are frightened, but their fears are in vain, since the hand of the performer is completely dry. The milk disappeared, and with the milk the glass disappeared. Spectators are convinced of this when the magician brings the cylinder to his eyes and looks through it at the audience. For greater clarity, the performer again passes a flower through this cylinder. Focus secret: For this trick you will need a glass and a metal cylinder. And although at first glance both the glass and the cylinder are the most ordinary (Fig. 44, A), in fact, both of them are with a secret.
The glass consists of internal and external, their walls are connected. The distance between the walls at the bottom is 1,5 cm. It is filled with milk. The height of the glass is 8-9 cm, the diameter is 5 cm (Fig. 44, B). The cylinder is made of thin sheet metal. It should be twice as high as the glass and slightly larger in diameter so that it can be freely put on the glass. A cylinder with a secret device - an inner section of the tube, which is half shorter than the main cylinder and has a conical shape. On fig. 44, B, and the cylinder and tube are shown in section. Both are made from the same material. One edge of the inner tube is tightly soldered to the middle of the outer cylinder and polished smoothly (Figure 44, D). The other edge should freely enter the middle of the glass, into its through hole (Fig. 44, E). When showing the cylinder, the performer must turn it towards him with a double edge. When the cylinder and glass of milk are demonstrated, the performer, holding the glass in the palm of one hand, puts the cylinder on it with the other. The walls of the inner tube will enter the through middle of the glass. When the glass is turned upside down together with the cylinder, the milk remains between the walls and does not spill out. When the magician again shows the cylinder to the audience, putting it to his eyes, along with the glass hidden in it, the audience sees only a through hole. To enhance the impression, the performer once again passes a flower through the middle of the cylinder. Author: Akopyan A.A.
