Focus Description:

The magician, showing his wand, knocks it on the table. He takes a sheet of paper, rolls it up with a tube, wraps one end and lowers the stick there, then wraps the other end of the tube. Taking the tube by both ends, he quickly brings his hands together and squeezes the tube with a stick (Fig. 16), then tears the crumpled bundle into pieces and throws the pieces.

Props:

Magic wand.

The case is an imitation of a paper stick.

Spread a sheet of paper measuring 6x35 cm on the table. Coat one edge in length with glue, and put the stick on its second edge and fold it together with paper towards the glue. Smooth the paper carefully so that there are no wrinkles. Roll up the paper, seal the ends. It turns out a tube. Your wand should slide easily into it. To do this, one or two turns of paper should be screwed over the stick, before gluing.

After the glue has dried well, carefully cut off the ends of the tube and paint it to match the color of your wand. Carefully remove the dried case from the stick. You should carefully check whether the stick enters and falls out of the case easily and freely.

It is best to prepare six or eight such cases at once, two sticks and rehearse with them.

Focus secret:

All work takes place with the second stick, on which case B is put on. In fig. 28 the stick is shown slightly extended from the case.

Focus Disappearing wand
Fig. 28

A wand with a case is placed on the table, where it lies, hidden from the audience by some object. Put your stick, which you held in your hand, at the end of the work, put it there. This makes it easier to exchange them (if it would be more convenient for you to put the wand in the left inner pocket of your jacket, then put the wand with the case there as well).

How does the wand "disappear"? The performer, holding a stick in a case in his hands, knocks it on the table so that the audience is convinced that he has a real stick in his hands. Then, as if wanting to put it in the inner left pocket of the jacket (you are standing half a turn with your left shoulder towards the audience), lower the wand slightly into your pocket and, opening your fingers, let it slide out of the case into your pocket under the cover of the left side of the jacket. Spectators see almost the entire case all the time and take it for a real wand.

You turn around, pick up the case in your hands, wrap it in paper and, twisting the ends, quickly crumple the bundle in your hands (see Fig. 16).

It is necessary to ensure that the audience does not notice the colored remains of the case in the scraps of paper. You should quickly throw them somewhere far away from the viewer corner.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Interactive whiteboards in Moscow schools 08.09.2012

R-Style supplied SMART Technologies computer interactive equipment for the Moscow Department of Education. The state contract was concluded following the placement of the state order of the city of Moscow through an open auction in electronic form and provided for the supply of computer interactive equipment, installation and commissioning of SMART Board 680iv interactive systems in 518 state budgetary educational institutions (SOSh) of the city of Moscow.

The main goal of this project was to improve the quality of education, its accessibility for students of the city's secondary schools, to simplify the process of mastering new material, as well as to increase the students' interest in the educational process. The project was implemented using modern equipment from SMART Technologies, namely: SMART Board 680iv integrated interactive system in the kit: SMART Board 680 interactive whiteboard with built-in SMART V25 projector and SMART Notebook software. This interactive system model does not require the use of special operating systems and is fully compatible with Windows and Linux operating systems. Thanks to the user-friendly interface, touch recognition system and other functions, the learning process becomes more fun and interesting.

An interactive whiteboard is a large touch screen connected to a computer, the image from which is transmitted to the board by a projector. The board can be controlled both with the help of a special stylus and with the help of touches. You can move images with your hand, change their size, write and erase what you have written. Communication between the whiteboard and the computer is two-way, and the finger or stylus of the interactive whiteboard works like a mouse. All changes are written to the appropriate files on the computer, can be saved and later edited or copied to removable media. The main goal of this project was to improve the quality of education, its accessibility for students of the city's secondary schools, to simplify the process of mastering new material, as well as to increase the students' interest in the educational process.

President of the R-Style group of companies Vasily Vasin notes: “Previously, such systems were purchased for schools mainly in isolated cases. Having received the state order from Moscow, we managed to carry out a centralized supply of interactive systems to more than 500 schools in Moscow. We offered the customer the optimal model an interactive system that, in terms of its functional characteristics, is not inferior to analogues from other manufacturers and at the same time most advantageously combines the criteria of price and quality. Moreover, SMART interactive systems have been used for quite a long time in a number of foreign countries and have proven themselves very well in the field of education. It should be noted that interactive systems can be used not only for educational purposes, but also in various business areas.
