Focus Description:

Remove the cylinder from the head, turn it over and place it on the table. Take a cube and a case of the same size out of your pocket. Twist the cube in your hands, as if not knowing where to hide it - in a cylinder or in a case. At last you have dared - in the cylinder. But at the last moment withdraw your hand - no, it's still better - into the case. Drop the cube into the case, close it and on the count of "Three!" touch the "magic wand". Now open the case - it's empty. Where did the cube go? He ended up in a cylinder.

Focus secret:

For focus, glue two cubes together. The second should be slightly larger than the first. In addition, one wall should be absent from it, and the opposite one should not be fixed. Insert the first cube into the second one. While you are spinning the cube (already double!) in your hands, hold the loose wall with your finger. And having "decided" to put the cube in the cylinder, release your finger, and the first cube will automatically fall into the cylinder.

Focus Cube in a Cylinder

The color inside the case must match the color inside the second cube. Now, when you open the case, you also open the side of the cube. You can open the case from the other side and show it to the audience in the light - it really seems empty.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Chemotherapy improvement 12.09.2021

The use of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound in combination with microbubbles can improve the delivery of chemotherapy drugs used to treat cancer. In their study, a group of Lithuanian researchers from three universities reported that the survival time of microbubbles is the best indicator for determining the effectiveness of sonoporation, that is, the rupture of the cancer cell membrane caused by ultrasound.

To date, a method in which ultrasound, along with microbubbles, is used to improve the delivery of anti-cancer drugs to affected cells is being widely studied. Although most of the research is carried out in vitro laboratory conditions, the first clinical trials have already begun. A new class of anti-cancer drugs could be effective in treating common types of leukemia.

"Our main finding is that only an estimate of the microbubble survival time is needed to predict the effectiveness of sonoporation. Therefore, our metrics are more advanced than the currently used inertial cavitation control variable," the study authors explain.
