Focus Description:

The magician shows two billiard balls - red and white, which have through holes. A curtain cord is threaded through the red ball, and its ends are held by two spectators, placing them at a distance of four steps from each other.

The illusionist draws the attention of the audience to the fact that they are holding the red ball, while the white one is in his hands. He takes a handkerchief, covers it with a red ball hanging on a string held by the audience. Then he once again shows the white ball in his hands. She takes it with her fingertips and puts it under her handkerchief. After a second, he takes his hand out from under the handkerchief - and everyone sees that a red ball is clamped in his hand.

Opening the handkerchief, the magician shows the audience that the white ball is hanging on a cord, the ends of which are firmly held by the audience. The white ball, along with the string, is passed to the inspection room, and the red one is placed on the table, but if the audience wants, then it is also allowed to be examined.

Props:

Two halves-tires per ball, interconnected by a hinge and painted red.

Two white and one red balls, about 4-5 cm in diameter.

Curtain cord 4 m long.

Large colored handkerchief.

Focus secret:

Both balls with which the magician operates are white and only the third is red; he lies unnoticed on the table, under the cover of some object, or on the sideboard. A metal shell is put on one white ball, which consists of two halves (Fig. 210), fastened together by a spring hinge. This shell is extruded very accurately over the ball. The shell is masked along the edges with a black stripe, so that when it is closed, it is mistaken for a whole ball with holes in the middle. Cutouts are made at the edges of the shell to pass the cord. as well as the third ball, on which masking stripes are also carried out with black paint.

The halves are put on a white ball in advance. The magician threads a cord through them and, as already mentioned, allows two spectators to hold its ends, making sure that they do not come close to the ball. Then, under the cover of a scarf, he removes the red shell, immediately puts it on a white ball in his hands and shows it to the audience. The hall is convinced that the illusionist somehow removed the red ball from the lace, and hung a white ball in its place.

The magician, showing a red ball in his hands, takes a string with a ball from the audience and gives it for inspection, and quietly exchanges a red shell with a white ball inside for a real red ball and puts it in front of the audience.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
