Focus Description:

In the hands of the magician there is a clothesline tied with a ring. He shows it to the audience, holding the ring in the middle with one hand (Fig. 1).

Suddenly, the concert host approaches the performer from behind and uses scissors to cut the rope ring in the middle. The artist is taken by surprise. He asks the culprit to tie the ends of the cut rope. The ends are tied, but now the rope ring has knots in two places (Fig. 2).

The magician takes scissors and trims the ends of one of the knots of the rope. Pieces of rope fall to the floor, the knot disappears, and the rope ring in this place again becomes whole and unharmed. The spectators are amazed. The presenter, not believing his eyes, again arms himself with scissors and again cuts the rope ring, this time in a different place. Smiling slyly, he says, turning to the audience: “Let him now make the rope ring whole, let’s see what he can do.”

The artist again asks him to tie the cut ends of the rope. The leader connects them. Then the magician again trims the ends of the knot, and before the eyes of the audience there appears a whole rope ring with one knot.

Focus secret:

This trick is usually a big hit with the audience. And his secret is very simple. First of all, the performer will need a round clothesline. One segment should be 2 m long, and the other two segments should be 0,25 m long each. In addition, for the trick you will need two matches and some thread.

You need to make a closed ring from a two-meter piece of rope. To do this, the ends of the rope should be cut so that they are not shaggy, then you need to sharpen a match on both sides and insert it into both ends of the rope. The match will connect the ends of the rope into a joint. The junction should be tightly wrapped with white bobbin thread. Such a connection will be completely invisible to viewers (Fig. 3, a).

Now one of the small pieces must be inserted through the large ring and connected in the same way. This will be the fictitious middle of the large rope ring.

On the other side of the large ring, you need to tie a knot from the second small segment, which will be perceived as a knot in a large rope ring (Fig. 3, b). While showing the rope ring to the audience, the performer holds in his hand the junction of two rings - small and large. It is quite obvious to the audience that the artist is showing the middle of a large rope ring (Fig. 4).

The leader, naturally, cuts the middle of the small ring. When, at the request of the performer, he ties the ends of the rope, this forms a second fictitious knot on the large rope ring (Fig. 5).

The artist cuts off the ends of this knot, and the knot is cut off along with them. But the large rope ring remains intact. The presenter decided to cut the rope ring again. Now he really cuts it in the middle. But this does not bother the performer - after all, he has one more fictitious knot on a large rope ring in stock. He asks the host to tie the ring and shows it to the audience/The rope ring is tied in two places. The artist puts them together and trims the ends of the fictitious knot (Fig. 6).

In the hands of the magician there remains a rope ring with one knot connecting the ends of the rope.

Demonstrating this trick requires simplicity and ease.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food.
