Focus Description:

The artist invites a spectator to the stage, who has a wedding ring on his finger. The spectator, at the request of the magician, gives his ring to the artist. The performer, taking the ring, puts it in the middle of an ordinary scarf. Having twisted the scarf with a tourniquet and hidden the ring in it, the artist gives it into the hands of an assistant spectator. The assistant firmly holds the twisted place of the handkerchief, simultaneously checking the middle of the handkerchief, where his ring is located. Ring in place (Fig. 1).

The performer at this time approaches his illusion table and takes a small piece of wire from there. He gives one end of the wire to his assistant. Then the artist invites another assistant from the auditorium and gives him the other end of the wire in his hand (Fig. 2).

After that, the artist asks the first assistant what he has in his handkerchief. He confidently replies that his ring is in the handkerchief. Then the magician, taking the free end of the handkerchief, asks the assistant to open his hand. Before the assistant had time to release the handkerchief from his hand, the artist waved it in the air - the ring from the handkerchief disappeared without a trace. And then a "miracle" happens. The artist covers the middle of the wire with the same handkerchief, the ends of which are held by his assistants. Having shown the audience that he has nothing in his hands, the performer quickly removes a handkerchief from the wire - the assistant's ring is put on the wire.

For this trick, you will need a colored scarf measuring 30 x 30 cm, a piece of metal wire 50-60 cm long, 0,5 cm in diameter and a wedding ring (inexpensive copper). This ring is sewn into one of the corners of the scarf (Fig. 3). It is the main secret of focus.

The wire at both ends must be bent by 4-5 cm (see Fig. 3) and placed on the illusion table in advance. To demonstrate the trick, first of all, you need to invite a viewer to the stage who has a wedding ring. The performer must take the ring from the assistant and get a handkerchief with a secret ring sewn into it. The handkerchief must be laid out on the palm of the left hand so that the corner with the secret ring is facing the performer, and the other three corners are facing the audience (Fig. 4).

Now the viewer's ring should be placed in the middle of the handkerchief and turn the handkerchief to the other side, covering his right hand with it and shifting the ring there (Fig. 5).

Ris.5

A corner with a secret ring is slipped into the middle of the scarf, and the viewer's ring is clamped in the palm of his right hand. Having twisted the scarf with a tourniquet, the performer passes it to an assistant, who probes the ring through the material, thinking that it is his own. Then the artist goes to his table and takes the wire. At this moment, he imperceptibly and very quickly puts the ring, which is in his palm, on the wire. Holding the wire together with the ring, the performer approaches his first assistant and invites him to pick up the end of the wire. After that, the performer invites the second assistant to the stage. Then the artist takes the handkerchief from the first assistant and shakes it several times. The viewer's ring, of course, "without a trace" disappeared.

Now the performer asks the second assistant to take the second end of the wire in his hand. When both assistants hold the wire, the performer must wrap the middle of the wire - in the place where the first assistant's ring already hangs - with a handkerchief (Fig. 6).

At that moment, when the artist pulls off the scarf, the ring will rotate on the wire, the ends of which are held in the hands of assistants. Having removed the ring from the wire, the performer returns it to its owner.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

New DACs from TI - high precision and low consumption 28.06.2009

Texas Instruments announced the release of the DAC8568 (16 bit), DAC8168 (14 bit), and DAC7568 (12 bit) DLCs. The new products are designed for data acquisition and industrial process control systems, as well as for portable instrumentation.

The devices are equipped with eight channels of precision DLP, which provides the industry's best combination of high accuracy and low power consumption. Key features. The internal voltage reference provides excellent thermal drift performance from 2 ppm/°C (typical) to 5 ppm/°C over the entire operating range, greatly improving accuracy. Internal voltage reference maintains high initial accuracy of +0,004% (typical); +0,02%, eliminating the need for a full system calibration.

The low energy of input voltage spikes during code changes, only 0,1 nV-s, limits unwanted transients and leads to a decrease in total non-linear distortion during signal generation. The wide temperature range, from -40°C to 125°C, ensures high performance in extreme conditions.

Eight separate DAC channels in a miniature TSSOP-14 or TSSOP-16 package and a low power of 0,56 mW/channel (including internal reference current) save power and reduce board footprint.
