Focus Description:

You show a matchbox. Open it and put a coin in it. You shake the box and the viewer hears the coin move inside.

Then you hand the box to someone in the audience and ask them to open it. Having done this, the viewer is usually surprised to find that instead of one coin, there is another in the box.

Focus secret:

You will need a properly prepared matchbox. With a sharp knife, make a slit in one of the ends of the drawer of the box, as shown in the figure.

When you put the first coin into the box, it slides out through the slot and into your hand.

You immediately close the box and shake it so that the viewer can hear the coin rattling inside. In fact, this is the second coin that, as you can see in the picture, was previously sandwiched between the edge of the box and its lid. When the box closes, the coin gets inside.
