Focus Description:

The magician shows a large metal pot with a lid. He puts a paper napkin in it and sets it on fire. The magician then quickly puts a lid on the pot to put out the fire. When he removes the lid, it turns out that the pot is magically filled with sweets, scarves, a pigeon, a rabbit, and so on - anything that fits in it is sitting in it.

Focus secret:

A. This is a very practical prop item that can be used to make things "magically" appear. Items or animals that will appear are hidden in the lid of the pot. You can "charge" the lid with anything from a chicken to a chain of flags. A secret chamber in the lid allows you to organize the "appearance" of a very large number of objects.

Q. Here is a disassembled view of the pan: there are three elements: 1) the pot that you show to the public; 2) cover; and 3) a secret chamber that the public does not know exists. The chamber fits precisely into the pot and can be hidden under the lid. It is held there by metal stoppers located on the inner surface of the lid. Items are loaded into the camera before the show begins, and the "charged" camera is inserted into the lid. The lid and pot are placed on the table.

1. Take the pan from the table. Show the audience that it's empty, then put a small wad of crumpled tissue paper in it. Use a match to light the lump. When the flame flares up, take the lid and quickly cover the pot.

2. When you cover the pot, its top lip opens the stopper, releasing the secret chamber that was in the lid. The chamber lowers into the pot, and when you then lift the lid, it looks like the pot has magically filled with what you put in the secret chamber.

This device can be used in almost any magic program. Imagination will tell you how to charge the camera. For example, you can fill it with "popcorn" - puffed corn. Kids love pot tricks and this is a very practical item for a magician.

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Implanted brain stimulator 30.04.2024

In recent years, scientific research in the field of neurotechnology has made enormous progress, opening new horizons for the treatment of various psychiatric and neurological disorders. One of the significant achievements was the creation of the smallest implanted brain stimulator, presented by a laboratory at Rice University. Called Digitally Programmable Over-brain Therapeutic (DOT), this innovative device promises to revolutionize treatments by providing more autonomy and accessibility to patients. The implant, developed in collaboration with Motif Neurotech and clinicians, introduces an innovative approach to brain stimulation. It is powered through an external transmitter using magnetoelectric power transfer, eliminating the need for wires and large batteries typical of existing technologies. This makes the procedure less invasive and provides more opportunities to improve patients' quality of life. In addition to its use in treatment, resist ... >>

The perception of time depends on what one is looking at 29.04.2024

Research in the field of the psychology of time continues to surprise us with its results. Recent discoveries by scientists from George Mason University (USA) turned out to be quite remarkable: they discovered that what we look at can greatly influence our sense of time. During the experiment, 52 participants took a series of tests, estimating the duration of viewing various images. The results were surprising: the size and detail of the images had a significant impact on the perception of time. Larger, less cluttered scenes created the illusion of time slowing down, while smaller, busier images gave the feeling of time speeding up. Researchers suggest that visual clutter or detail overload can make it difficult to perceive the world around us, which in turn can lead to faster perception of time. Thus, it was shown that our perception of time is closely related to what we look at. Larger and smaller ... >>

Running with a virtual opponent 16.08.2020

Any athlete will confirm that when you compete with someone, the results are better. A new headset called Ghost Pacer is ready to provide a virtual opponent that will motivate runners to new challenges.

Ghost Pacer is an augmented reality headset. Such exciting technology already allows users to play PokemonGo, look for "real" clues in detective games, and "try on" new IKEA furniture in your home.

And now it will help improve your workouts. So wearing special glasses with a built-in visor, you can see your opponent, who will run ahead. This virtual training partner can be set to run at a specific pace, or even synced to a previous training session, either your own or a friend's.

The most interesting thing is that the outcome of the training is unknown! You can overtake the enemy, or you can be the last one at the finish line.

The entire training cycle is controlled and customized in the Ghost Pacer app, which allows users to set the avatar's route and speed, as well as track their progress. The headset itself comes in two bundles, the pro version can connect to some smartwatch models to collect more detailed data.

The Ghost Pacer was listed for funding on Kickstarter, where it has already raised over $82, with a $000 goal. The cost of the device will be $25 for the regular model and $000 for the pro version. If all goes according to plan, sales should begin in July 199.
