Focus Description:

The performer shows a beautiful vase and a piece of rope. The diameter of the rope is approximately half the diameter of the hole in the neck of the vase. The magician especially draws the attention of the audience to this circumstance by inserting the end of the rope into the vase, and then easily removing it. Next, the magician winds the rope into the vase again and turns it upside down.

He then lets go of the rope, but it continues to hang, held in the vase by some mysterious force. The magician takes hold of the rope and turns the vase upside down into its normal position. Holding the vase by the rope, he swings it like a magic pendulum. The full weight of the vase, even in motion, cannot overcome the mysterious force that binds the rope and the vase. Finally, the magician allows the rope to "lose its strength" and effortlessly pulls it out of the neck of the vase. The rope and vase are immediately handed over to the audience for verification.

Focus secret:

The items you need to perform this trick are not difficult to acquire. First of all, you need a narrow-mouthed vase, which can be a spice bottle of a certain kind. It must be opaque so that the public cannot see the contents of the vase. The inner diameter of the opening of the vase should be twice the diameter of the rope you are using.

Focus Magic Vase

Note. A bottle of sauce, such as ketchup, is ideal. Once you've found a bottle that's the right size for you, paint it so it's opaque, then paint the magic marks on top in the style of the show you have in mind.

Prepare also a rope about half a meter long (this is one of the few cases where a hard rope is better than a magician's soft rope). And finally, a special object that is the secret of this trick, namely a small cork or rubber ball, the diameter of which is slightly more than half the internal diameter of the neck. The ball is lowered into a vase, and it is inside it throughout the entire procedure. You can always pick up such a ball for yourself in the store or simply cut it out of an ordinary bottle cap.

1. When you start demonstrating the trick, the ball is already inside the vase, which, along with the rope, you show to the public. You will find that the vase can be manipulated fairly freely without exposing the secret ball, but still don't tilt it so much that it can roll out.

2. Then demonstrate how easily the rope enters the neck of the vase. (By this operation, you hint to the public that it is very difficult to secretly "clamp" the rope in the neck: this will immediately become obvious to all viewers.)

3. After showing several times that the rope enters and exits the neck easily, you insert the rope into the vase for the last time and bring it to the bottom of the vase, as shown in the figure.

4. Then you slowly turn the vase with the rope upside down. Hold the vase with one hand, the rope with the other. In this case, a secret ball will roll between the rope and the wall of the vase at the neck.

5. Slowly let go of the rope, and the general impression is that it will be held in the vase by magical force (but actually a ball). To secure the rope, pull the end down slightly before you release it. With this movement, you will jam the ball between the rope and the wall.

6. Grasp the end of the rope again and turn the vase with the rope upside down to its normal position. While holding the rope with one hand, release the vase. Now you can swing it on a rope like a pendulum!

Focus Magic Vase

7. To eliminate the "magic power", take the vase in your hand and push the rope into the vase: as a result, the ball will fall to the bottom and release the rope.

8. If you are working among the public, then invite the viewer to pull the rope from the vase. (If on stage, take it out yourself.) As soon as the spectator has taken out the rope, turn the vase over, as if to show its bottom, and let the secret ball roll out into your half-bent fingers. Then pass the vase to the audience for inspection.

Focus Magic Vase

Try several balls until you choose the most reliable one. Once you have determined what size props you need, make several sets in case one gets lost.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Miniature hard drive 03.01.2006

In the second half of 2005, the Japanese company Hitachi began producing the smallest computer hard drive in the world.

The model, called "Mickey", holds up to 10 gigabytes of information. The diameter of the disk itself is 2 centimeters, and the dimensions of the entire assembly are 54x40x30 millimeters, which is comparable to a domino.

"Mickey" is intended for embedding in mobile phones equipped with a camera, digital video cameras and players. If you use a microdisk in a digital player, then it will fit up to 2000 songs.
