Piezoelectric filters (PEF) belong to selection devices and serve to isolate (suppress) a certain spectrum of oscillations.

Frequency selection devices. Reference data

The national classification is based on nine elements:

FIRST ELEMENT - letters "FP" (denoting - piezoelectric filter);
SECOND ELEMENT - a number indicating the material of the piezoelectric element (1 - ceramics, 2 - quartz, 3 - piezocrystals other than quartz and ceramics);
THIRD ELEMENT - a letter indicating the function of the filter (P - bandpass, R - rejector, D - discriminator, G - comb, O - one sideband);
FOURTH ELEMENT - a figure indicating the design and technological design of the filter (1 - discrete, 2 - hybrid single-layer, 3 - hybrid piezo-mechanical, 4 - hybrid monolithic, 5 - other hybrid, 6 - integral single-layer, 7 - integral piezo-mechanical, 8 - integral monolithic , 9 - integral on surfactants, 10 - integral others);
FIFTH ELEMENT - a two (three) digit number indicating the registration number of the development;
SIXTH ELEMENT - a number indicating the nominal frequency and a letter indicating the frequency unit or code: 1 - low-frequency (up to 60 kHz), 2 - medium-frequency (60 ... 400 kHz), 3 - mid-frequency (400 ... 1200 kHz), 4 - high-frequency (1.2 ... 3 MHz), 5 - high-frequency (3 ... 5 MHz), 6 - high-frequency (5 ... 25 MHz), 7 - high-frequency (25 ... 35 MHz) , 8 - high-frequency (35 ... 90 MHz), 9 - high-frequency (over 90 MHz);
SEVENTH ELEMENT - a number corresponding to the bandwidth (delay) in Hertz (kiloHertz) or code (f / f) 1 - narrowband (up to 0,05%), 2 - narrowband (0,05 ... 0,2%) , 3 - broadband (0,2 ... 0,4%), 4 - broadband (0,4 ... 0,8%), 5 - broadband (over 0,8%);
EIGHTH ELEMENT - a letter characterizing the operating conditions (B - all-climatic, T - tropical, M - marine);
NINTH ELEMENT - a letter indicating the range of operating temperatures (A = +1 ... + 55 ° C, B = -10 ... + 60 ° C, C = -40 ... + 70 ° C, D = - 40...+85°C, E= -60...+85°C, W=-80...+100°C).

Frequency selection devices. Reference data. FP - piezoelectric filter 3 - based on a piezoelectric crystal P - bandpass 9 - integral on SAW

A hyphen is placed between elements 4 and 5, 5 and 6, 6 and 7, 7 and 8. If there is not enough space for a complete classification, an abbreviated marking on the instruments is used, consisting of the first five letters:

FP - piezoelectric filter
3 - based on a piezocrystal
P-band
9 - integral on SAW
4 - accuracy class

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Innovative modular smartphone from Google 08.03.2014

Developed by Motorola's now-Google division of Motorola, Ara's unusual modular phone is expected in early 2015. The device's base price is expected to be $50.

An unusual smartphone will be based on the so-called endoskeleton, i.e. a frame to which the user can independently attach the necessary modules: a physical keyboard, a touch screen, cameras and the necessary sensors. It is assumed that the smartphone will support the replacement of modules on the fly.

On the front side of the smartphone, the modules will be attached using mechanical latches, on the back - using magnets. Modules for the device will be created, including using 3D Systems 3D printers, due to which flexibility in the production of components will be achieved. The thickness of the assembled modular smartphone with a module thickness of 4 mm should not exceed 10 mm.

It is assumed that the basic version of Motorola Ara, which includes a frame with a Wi-Fi module and a screen, will go to retail in early 2015 and will cost about $50.

As reported in the Google corporate blog, on April 15-16, 2014, a conference for developers Ara Developers Conference will be held, at which the first versions of the smartphone, already in hardware, will be presented.

Motorola first introduced the Ara project to the public in October 2013. It was announced that the project is being created to help young small companies with limited funding, who, with the help of a designer, will be able to create their own smartphones, which will lower the threshold for their entry into the market.
