Focus Description:

The performer during the program of tricks with coins shows a stack of coins. All of a sudden, the coins "roll" onto his fingers until each individual coin is sandwiched between his fingers.

Rolling can be classified as a decorative manipulation. Having mastered the technique, you will be able to demonstrate the high skill of manipulating coins. We recommend using half dollars for this (if you can handle it) for two reasons: manipulation of larger coins seems more difficult (in fact, it is much easier to master) and is suitable for demonstration in a large audience, since the audience sees the whole procedure.

Focus secret:

1. Take a stack of four coins in your right hand, holding it between your thumb and forefinger. The palm of the hand should be facing up.

2. Bend the middle finger to the palm and tilt the hand slightly to the left.

3. The purpose of the next operation is to let the top two coins of the pile (A and B) slide (or turn over with the help of the little finger) to the left and wedged between the ring finger and the little finger.

4. Note. Note that you must perfect the movements of steps 1, 2, and 3 before you proceed to master step 4. The confidence with which you hold coins A and B between your ring finger and little finger will determine success or failure in subsequent steps.

5. Holding coins A and B between the ring finger and little finger, lift the middle finger and touch it to the edges of coin B and coin C. The thumb holds coin D.

6. Slowly straighten your fingers. The thumb leads coin D to the right, while the little finger leads coin A to the left. The middle finger holds the edges of coins B and C.

7. Here are all the coins and took the desired positions. You demonstrate coins, each of which lies between your fingers.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Salt heating 08.12.2001

Located in the suburbs of Frankfurt am Main (Germany), a large plant of the chemical company "Hoechst" produces medicines, chamfers, plastics, food additives. It also generates a lot of waste heat.

Until recently, heated air was simply thrown into the atmosphere, hot water was cooled (which used a lot of energy) and dumped into the Main. Now excess heat is transported to the city in thermoses and used to heat the administrative building with an area of 17 square meters, which employs about 600 people.

Thermally insulated containers contain sodium acetate - a salt that melts at 58 degrees Celsius and accumulates a large amount of heat in the process. Cooling down, the salt melt heats the water in the heating system of the building. Depending on the weather, five or six containers are delivered per day, one is enough for the night. Cooled thermoses are taken back to the plant and again "charged" with heat. 400 thousand liters of liquid fuel are saved per year.

And the University of Nottingham (England) proposed a cooling system based on the same principle. The heat from the heated air is pumped into containers with solid sodium sulfate, it melts, and the temperature in the rooms drops by 2 - 3 degrees. For a relatively cool English summer, this is enough. Energy saving compared to a conventional air conditioner - 16 times.

In different countries, pocket heating pads and refrigerated salt packs have long been produced, charged with cold or heat in hot water or a refrigerator.
