Focus Description:

The conjurer is clearly holding nothing when he removes a handkerchief from his breast pocket. He throws a handkerchief over his right hand and shows that his left hand is empty, then throwing the handkerchief over his left hand.

Spectators are surprised to see how a large silver coin magically appears in the folds of the handkerchief. Taking a coin, the magician puts it in the right pocket of his trousers. Then he throws the handkerchief back on his right hand. Another coin materializes in the folds of the handkerchief. Having hidden the second coin in his pocket, the magician begins to work at a faster pace, materializing coin after coin in an endless succession. Finally, the magician puts the handkerchief aside and takes the coins from his pocket. The audience sees a waterfall of silver as he pours them into a box on the table.

Focus secret:

This impressive performance only requires the ability to hold a coin in the palm-fingers position and a few rehearsals to ensure that the procedure is carried out without hesitation. Holding the coin is done in this case with both the right and left hand, which you can easily do after appropriate training.

For the show, stock up on an ordinary handkerchief, twelve coins (we recommend half a dollar or even silver dollars for show, if you have a large enough palm), and a glass or metal bowl that you put on the table. Put six coins in your right pants pocket and six coins in your left pants pocket and you're good to go.

1. Remove a handkerchief from your breast pocket and, by unfolding it, clearly demonstrate that you are not hiding anything either in it or in your hands.

2. Now pinch the fingers of your right hand as shown in the figure so that all fingertips touch each other and point upwards.

3. With your left hand, throw a scarf over your right hand. Make sure the pinch is near the center of the handkerchief.

4. Show the audience again that the left hand is empty, then grasp the center of the handkerchief with your fingertips.

5. With the next movement, you must change hands, that is, cover your left hand with a handkerchief and release your right. You, as in step 4, hold the center of the handkerchief with a pinch and throw the handkerchief over the left hand with your right hand. The left hand turns over and takes the same position in which the right one was before. Now the left hand is covered with a handkerchief.

6. Then you pretend to see something protruding from the center of the handkerchief. Take hold of this "something" with your right hand. Since the back of the hand is facing the audience, the audience thinks that you have taken up some object that they cannot see.

7. Without hesitation, place this item in your right pants pocket. You have just secretly placed the palm-finger position on one of the six coins you have in your right pocket.

8. Note: The whole operation of this step must be timed so that the audience gets the impression that you put something in your pocket, but did not take it out.

9. Next, you take your hand out of your pocket. Hold your hand with the back of your hand towards the audience to securely hide the coin in the palm-to-fingers position. Grasp the center of the handkerchief with the fingertips of your right hand.

10. You again intend to change hands, this time cover your right hand with a handkerchief, in which the coin is hidden. The left hand throws a handkerchief over the right, and the right hand turns over, taking its previous position.

11. Note: The audience is unaware of the coin hidden in the right hand. With the last operation, you have successfully "charged" the handkerchief with the first coin.

12. Again you pretend to see something protruding from the center of the handkerchief. This time you take the "something" with the fingers of your left hand.

13. You naturally send the detected object to the left pocket of your trousers, as in step 7. In the pocket, left hand Grabs one of the six coins located there in the palm-fingers position. Then grasp the center of the handkerchief with the fingertips of your left hand, in which the coin is hidden.

14. Of particular importance is the following movement. With the fingers of your left hand, grasp the center of the handkerchief and through the fabric for the hidden coin, for the coin that was hidden in the right hand.

15. Note: Be careful when doing this: don't accidentally show the coin that is in the Palm-Fingers position in the left hand. The action should give the impression of simply grasping the center of the handkerchief, when in fact you are taking the hidden coin from the fingers of your right hand with your fingertips.

16. Then repeat the steps in step 5. However, this time, a coin will suddenly appear in the center of the handkerchief! The "appeared" coin is held through the fabric with the fingers of the left hand.

17. Take the coin with the thumb and fingers of your right hand and put it in your pocket. In fact, with your right hand in your pocket, move the coin to the palm-fingers position. Then take your hand out of your pocket along with the hidden coin. The audience will assume that the coin is left in the pocket, because the hand, taken out of the pocket, looks empty.

Focus Coins out of thin air

18. Now you grasp the center of the handkerchief with the fingertips of your right hand and through the fabric for the coin held by your left hand. Repeat step 14 to present the next coin with your left hand.

19. Alternately repeat the operation with the right and the left hand until a dozen coins are collected.

20. Finally put down the handkerchief, put both hands in your pockets and take all the coins, take your hands out of your pockets and pour two sparkling handfuls from your palms into a bowl on the table. At this point, the audience will be absolutely convinced that you really pulled all those coins from your empty hands and equally empty handkerchief, when in fact you only needed two coins for the trick.

Usually, at the end of this trick, the magician returns the borrowed handkerchief to the viewer with the wish that he achieve the same results with it. If the handkerchief is your own, put it in your pocket and move on to the next trick, leaving viewers wondering where those coins came from.

The trick can be carried out in a different scenario, using coins of different sizes and denominations that can be put in different pockets. In this case, after showing the audience and putting a few half dollars in your pocket, you can switch to dollars from your right pocket and demonstrate them. Then, with your left hand, show a large copper coin, such as an old English penny. You can complete the procedure by switching to "nickel" (a coin of ten cents) and declaring that the magical power seems to be running out, as coins become less and less valuable.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The most massive neutron star discovered 29.04.2019

A group of American researchers led by Hannah Cromarty from the University of Virginia found that the pulsar PSR J0740 + 6620, apparently, is the most massive neutron star known - it is more than twice as heavy as the Sun.

As follows from the name of neutron stars, their main part is made up of a core of neutrons - heavy elementary particles that do not have an electric charge, writes mk.ru.

Although the mass of a typical neutron star is comparable to the mass of the Sun, its radius is only 10-20 kilometers, and only the outer layer, about a kilometer thick, is matter in the form of heavy atomic nuclei and electrons.

Modern cosmological models suggest that neutron stars represent the final stage of one of the scenarios in which the evolution of "ordinary" stars proceeds. The collision of neutron stars is considered one of the events that can cause the appearance of gravitational waves, that is, fluctuations in the very fabric of space-time.

Pulsars are rapidly rotating neutron stars and can be detected by radio waves emitted from their poles. According to one version, the waves generate rotation by itself, and according to another, it slows down.

PSR J0740+6620 is in a binary system with a white dwarf. After studying the signals coming from it, experts came to the conclusion that its mass is 2,17 solar. These data will allow about what sizes such objects can reach and what exactly their structure can be.
