Who Invented the Violin?

The violin is known as the queen of instruments. There are more than 100 musicians in a large orchestra, and more than 30 of them are violinists. The violin occupies this position due to the beauty of tone and expressiveness of sound. The violin has been perfected over the centuries. Its history began in India, where stringed bowed instruments were invented.

In Europe during the early Middle Ages, the bow was played on a wide variety of stringed instruments. One of them was the viola, which was probably brought to Europe from the Balkan Peninsula in the XNUMXth century. Like a violin, the player held the viola on his shoulder. Later, the viola was modified under the influence of the rebecca. It was an Arabic instrument that spread from Spain throughout Europe. Combining the strength of the viola shape with a well-thought-out sequence of rebeca pegs, we got a new group of instruments. The violin acquired its current form in the second half of the XNUMXth century and has hardly changed since then.

The most famous violins were made in the 1644th and 1737th centuries. Italy gave outstanding masters - the creators of the violin. The most brilliant was, obviously, Antonio Stradivari (1116-540). Stradivari is considered an unsurpassed master. He created a violin somewhat larger and flatter than those that existed before. This gave her a special sound. It is said that Stradivari created XNUMX instruments. Of these, we know XNUMX. Many of them have their own names, for example, Viotti. They got their names from the musicians who played them.

Which country is named after Christopher Columbus?

The Spanish conquerors called Colombia "a country of fabulous wealth." They first set foot on her land in 1499.

In Bogotá, the capital of present-day Colombia, there is a gold museum displaying gold items and emeralds. Now these treasures belong to an independent state, which in 1863 was named Colombia in honor of Christopher Columbus. In fact, the independence of Gran Colombia was first declared by Simon Bolivar in 1819, but the country soon became known as New Granada.

The coat of arms of the country depicts a ship with raised sails, and next to it is a cornucopia from which coffee beans are pouring. Coffee is the main wealth of the country. However, throughout the XNUMXth century, Colombia lived on the proceeds from the sale of gold. Colombia is located in the northwest of South America, where the narrow isthmus begins, connecting the two American continents. In terms of size in South America, Colombia is second only to Brazil, Argentina and Peru.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person.
