Focus Description:

The magician shuffles the cards and gives them to the spectator, who divides them into three piles. The spectator selects a pile, looks at a card from that pile, and memorizes it. The card is moved to another pile, which the spectator deals one card per table. The magician recognizes the chosen card by the reaction of the spectator.

Focus secret:

Lazily shuffling the cards, take a quick look at the bottom card. Fake shuffle 4 to move this card to the top, and at the same time quickly look at the bottom card. Now you know the top and bottom cards of the deck.

1. Say, "I need a volunteer to help me perform this trick - in fact, you can say he will do it, since I will only hand him the deck and never touch it again. Who wants to participate?" Let's say Christina will be the assistant.

2. Pass the cards to Christina, saying: "Please arrange them in three piles face down, dropping them one by one on the table. Excellent."

3. Three piles lie as shown in the picture. You know the bottom card of pile A and the top card of pile C, but nothing about pile B.

4. Tell Christine, "Now I want you to choose one of these three piles and point to it."

5. What happens next depends on which stack Christina chooses. Let's say she chooses A. Say: "You chose this pile. Take it and look at the bottom card. Take this card, memorize it and put it in any of the other two piles. Now completely shuffle this pile so that I have no opportunity find out which card you chose. In fact, of course, you already know this.

6. If Christina chooses C, ask her to take the top card, look at it, memorize it and place it in one of the other two piles and shuffle that pile. And again, you know which card Christina chose.

7. In both cases, say to Christina: “Now I want you to take the pile in which your card is hidden and deal the cards face up one at a time. react to it so I can find out what the card is. It's like a drug test. The bottom line is that you will definitely give yourself away when you turn in your card. I will stop you when I think that your card, but if I don't stop, don't tell me anything. Sometimes I need a second try."

8. Of course, you will recognize the card when Christina puts it down, and you can stop her and reveal the card. But, if this card is one of the first three that she deals, it is better to let her deal further. At the end, say: "I'm sorry I missed it. Perhaps because it was one of the first and passed before I began to follow your reaction. Just turn over the first few cards again, and I hope I I will see her." When Christina turns over the correct card, say, "Oh, there it is. I definitely felt the vibrations."

9. If Christina chooses pile B, you will have to act differently, because in this case the card is initially unknown to you. Tell Cristina: "Take the top card, look at it and remember. Now put it on top of one of the other two piles." When Christina does this, say, "Now please remove the pile and move the bottom card to the top." Then ask her, as in the first two cases, to deal cards one at a time. Note: this time you don't let them shuffle.

10. This time the chosen card will appear in the middle of the procedure so that you can identify it immediately. If Christine puts a card on top of pile A, it will appear just after the bottom card of the deck you looked at before giving the cards to Christine, so you can say, "Oh, there she is. I caught a slight jitter when you dealt it." .

From the moment you look at the top and bottom cards at the very beginning, until you reveal the chosen card at the end, a lot of time will pass and a lot of words will be said. Focus so you don't forget what these cards are!

11. If Christina puts her card on pile C, she will appear one card earlier than the one you memorized at the beginning on the deal - so you won't recognize her right away. But as soon as she deals the next card, you will already know. Say, "Wait a minute, Christine. I thought you were a little nervous when you dealt this card, as if the last card was your choice." Call her and ask: "Was that her?" Christina will confirm that she is.

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The threat of space debris to the Earth's magnetic field 01.05.2024

More and more often we hear about an increase in the amount of space debris surrounding our planet. However, it is not only active satellites and spacecraft that contribute to this problem, but also debris from old missions. The growing number of satellites launched by companies like SpaceX creates not only opportunities for the development of the Internet, but also serious threats to space security. Experts are now turning their attention to the potential implications for the Earth's magnetic field. Dr. Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics emphasizes that companies are rapidly deploying satellite constellations, and the number of satellites could grow to 100 in the next decade. The rapid development of these cosmic armadas of satellites can lead to contamination of the Earth's plasma environment with dangerous debris and a threat to the stability of the magnetosphere. Metal debris from used rockets can disrupt the ionosphere and magnetosphere. Both of these systems play a key role in protecting the atmosphere and maintaining ... >>

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Cats understand their owners 19.04.2023

Many pet owners believe that their pets understand everything that is said to them. And scientists from Sophia University in Tokyo have found evidence that cats can actually understand human language.

The researchers studied the behavior of 78 cats and found that cats can distinguish their nickname from other words, even if it is pronounced with an accent. They are able to match words with individual objects, which indicates a high understanding of the language.

However, scientists also note that these skills depend on the individual characteristics of each feline personality and its level of intelligence. Even among cats, there can be disagreement about the ability to understand human language.

Domestic cats are also very good at reading the mood of their owner and behave accordingly. They may be cautious in communication or try to fawn. It may seem that the cat perfectly understands what is being said to him.

In addition, cats also understand that young children do not always understand the consequences of their actions. Therefore, they may avoid contact with children because they are afraid that they might harm them.

Cats are also well aware of the prohibitions set by their owner. They can observe these prohibitions, but only in the presence of the owner. But, like other animals, they have no concept of good and evil. That is why they will observe the prohibitions only in the presence of the owner.
