Focus Description:

Focus secret:

1. Choose your partner. Let's call her Natalia. Give her one of the decks and ask her to make sure it's a regular standard deck. Tell her, "In this experiment, you must do with your cards exactly what I do with mine. In the end, we will find that we have arrived at a surprising result. First of all, we will both shuffle the cards well."

2. When that's done, say, "Now we'll swap decks and shuffle them. Before you shuffle mine, you can fan it to make sure mine is standard. See? Nothing out of the ordinary? Good."

3. When you shuffle Natalia's deck, straighten it up by taking a quick look at the bottom card. Let it be the eight of hearts.

4. Place Natalia's deck face down in front of her and ask her to do the same as you. Say, "Now draw a card from any part of the deck, look at it and remember. I will do the same. Then we will both put our chosen cards back on top of the deck." In fact, although you are doing these steps, you do not need to memorize your card at all.

5. When this is done, say, "Now we'll both cut our decks like this." If Natalia doesn't know how to make a withdrawal, show her on your cards by taking half of the cards from the top of the deck, placing them on the table and placing the remaining half on top.

6. Say, "Okay. Now we'll exchange decks again. Now find the card you chose in my deck and place it face down on the table. I'll go over your deck and do the same."

7. All you need to do, of course, is find the eight of hearts in Natalya's deck. Next above it, or to the right of it, if you unfold the cards in a fan, there will be a card of Natalya. You take it out and put it on the table.

8. Say: “Natalia, what do you think is the probability that we chose the same card? We'll see".

9. You both turn over your cards and they are identical.

Every year, the British throw thousands of broken, obsolete or unwanted mobile phones into the landfill. But soon, at the pan-European level, a law is to be adopted requiring the obligatory waste-free use of all electronics. Unnecessary appliances should be disassembled into parts that can somehow be reused or buried in a safe place.

Dismantling and sorting into parts small devices such as a pocket phone is a difficult and painstaking manual labor. Therefore, employees of Brunel University in London proposed to make mobile phones from metals and plastics with shape memory. When heated to a certain temperature, such an apparatus simply disintegrates, and the resulting pile of parts is easy to sort.

Such phones and other electronic devices will gradually disassemble themselves into parts, passing along the conveyor through zones with varying degrees of heat.
