Focus Description:

Straighten your palm and wiggle your fingers. Clamp the big one in the fist of the second hand. Ah, bad luck! The finger came off and remained in the hand, the nail peeps out of the fist ... It's okay, such a powerful wizard like you, it doesn't cost anything to grow it back! Another quick move and he was back in his seat.

Focus secret:

Like all finger tricks, this one is based on sleight of hand and the correct position of the magician in relation to the audience. Make sure the audience can't see the back of your hand. Move them a little to divert attention, and squeeze the index and middle fingers of the other hand around the thumb.

Focus Severed finger

After that, all movements must be performed as quickly as possible. Turn your hands a little and, unclenching your fist, press your thumb in your palm. At the same time, stick the thumb of the other hand in its place. If you did everything right, the second, "tearing off", palm will show an almost real "fig", only the tip will protrude between the middle and index. Now you just have to make a picture jerk, as if you were unscrewing your finger from your hand with effort.

You need to “engraft” the finger back in the same way: first, press your hands one to the other and straighten your thumb, then slowly “remove” your fist from it, while straightening your “fig” so that the audience sees the gradually decreasing tip of the nail peeking between the fingers.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Test of automatic braking systems in cars 29.05.2014

Nikkei Automotive Technology magazine has published test results of various automotive obstacle and pedestrian recognition systems with automatic braking in front of them. The independent trial looked at designs from nine automotive companies.

The Japanese auto giant Fuji Heavy Industries, which produces cars under the Subaru brand, received the highest praise. They are equipped with a new generation EyeSight active safety system, which was awarded 7 points in the rating - 4 points for the ability to avoid collision with other vehicles at speeds up to 50 km / h and 3 points for automatic braking in the event of a risk of collision with a pedestrian at 40 km /h

The stereo camera in the updated EyeSight option, unlike its previous version, can recognize colors and has a 40% increase in angles and viewing distance. In addition, the reaction speed increased from 30 to 50 km/h. According to the automaker, about 80% of Subaru buyers choose to include the EyeSight feature.

In the ranking of the safest electronic assistants to avoid accidents, Volvo Car got the second place. Using the Volvo V40 hatchback as an example, journalists found that the City Safety complex effectively responds to other cars at speeds up to 40 km/h. In the case of identification of pedestrians on the roadway, the speed of the car should not exceed 30 km/h. As a result, the security system from the Swedish brand received 5 points.

The top three in the Nikkei Automotive Technology report was closed by the Japanese company Nissan Motor. It is followed by the German BMW Group. Experts draw attention to the fact that the first four places in the ranking were occupied by automakers whose automatic braking system uses cameras. They are better at detecting pedestrians than radar or infrared laser devices.

The latter are installed in Suzuki, Daihatsu and Honda cars, which scored only one point each in the study. These manufacturers completely failed the "live obstacle" test on the road.

The same one point was received by the German concern Volkswagen AG. Under his brand, the Golf Variant model was tested. Toyota Motor Company was satisfied with the result of 2 points. The operation of Volkswagen and Toyota automatic brakes is based on the radar module.
