Focus Description:

The magician shows the audience a rope to which a bright plastic ring is tied in the middle. Two knots are tied on both sides at an equal distance. He holds the rope by the end with his left hand and brings it close to the audience, making it possible to examine in detail. Having demonstrated to everyone that the rope is the most ordinary, he slowly begins to wind it with his right hand on four outstretched fingers of his left until he wraps it almost completely.

Only a small end remains. After that, with his right hand he takes out a handkerchief from his pocket and covers the palm with a rope. Then he slowly pulls it off and puts it in his pocket.

Having done all this, the magician again approaches the audience and winds the rope in front of them. Everyone can see that it lacks a lower node. He inexplicably untied himself and disappeared.

- Do you want the second knot to be untied? - the magician asks the audience and again repeats all the actions in the same sequence, as a result of which the second knot also disappears. In conclusion, he passes the rope around his hands so that everyone can be convinced that it is really the most ordinary one.

Focus secret:

The secret lies in the two lower knots on a rope 60-70 centimeters long and about a centimeter thick. Each knot is sewn from a small piece of the same rope, inside it there is a hole into which a large rope passes freely. The ends of the nodules are sewn up, go inside so that they are not visible. They are put on a rope, and they slide easily along it. In appearance, it can not be distinguished from the real ones, tied at the top.

Focus Disappearing nodes

When the magician winds the rope around one hand, he imperceptibly pulls off the last false knot with the other and, putting his hand into his pocket for a handkerchief, leaves the knot there.

There is no longer a knot on the rope covered with a scarf. The other node is removed in the same way. To make the knots easy to put on and take off the rope, its ends must be varnished or wrapped with adhesive tape.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Synthesized a new type of antibiotic to fight superbugs 25.03.2018

The struggle of scientists against superviruses and superbugs continues - today another significant breakthrough in this area has been made, providing specialists with a lot of food for thought and a lot of material for study. The fact is that a talented team of microbiologists from the University of Lincoln, UK, managed to synthesize a new type of antibiotic that can effectively fight superbugs, being introduced as the basis for modern-class antiviral drugs.

The preliminary results obtained by specialists cannot but surprise, since they managed to defeat one such superbug in experimental mice.

This antibiotic is, at its core, a chemically measured "version" of a natural antibiotic called teixoblastin, discovered by American researchers in 2015 - it is known that its properties allow it to effectively fight viruses such as MRSA and VRE. Scientists from Lincoln University were able to synthesize a simpler form of this natural antibiotic by working with a change in the location of key amino acids in its structure - thus, they were able to obtain several strains of this antibiotic at once.

Further, their colleagues from the Singapore Eye Research Institute used one of the strains to try to treat some superbug in experimental rats - and they succeeded. But in addition to its primary function of treating and eliminating superbugs, this modified antibiotic also significantly prevents the further growth of such bacteria, creating a special environment in the human body.
