Focus Description:

Take a matchbox out of your pocket, show it to everyone and pour the matches on the table. Then ask someone from the audience to give you a ring from your hand for a while. Ask two more people to help you show the trick.

After passing the ring to one of the assistants, and a piece of twine to the other, ask them to thread the twine into the ring. Then take a twine with a ring from them, put a matchbox case on the twine and slide an empty matchbox into it so that the ring is inside it. The assistants stretch the twine, and everyone can see a matchbox hanging in the middle with a ring inside.

Then take out a handkerchief and, showing that it is the most ordinary, throw it on a matchbox. And in the next moment, remove a completely whole closed matchbox from under the handkerchief and show it to the audience. When the scarf is removed, everyone will see that only one ring is left hanging on the twine.

Focus secret:

The thing is that one of the two side walls of the matchbox case is double; in this place the case is glued. The double wall of the case can be easily separated, it is enough just to cut the paper along the seam, which is pasted over the case. A thin layer of plasticine is applied to the inner plane, and the outer plane is pressed against it. As a result, the case again turns out to be intact. A box of matches slides into it, now the box is ready to show the trick.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. Plants on the desktop reduce stress 22.10.2022

Japanese scientists from Awaji University found that plants on the desktop help to calm down and reduce stress. In this case, the effect was observed from all species - cacti to dwarf trees.

As part of the experiment, for 4 weeks, 60 office workers worked with plants on the table - bonsai, indoor palm, everia, kokedama and cactus. Their anxiety levels and heart rate were compared before and after the study. It turned out that the participants in the experiment experienced less stress.

"Not everyone understands and uses the benefits of plants in the workplace. Therefore, we decided to test and provide scientific evidence for the recovery of the body in this case," explained study author Masahiro Toyoda.

Levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, dropped an average of 10% when workers looked at plants. For the best effect, scientists note, it is necessary to carry out therapy by contemplating flowers for about 20-30 minutes a day.
