EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Mind reading with forced choice. Focus secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: (A) In this case, you are doing three different ESP experiments. In the first, you correctly determine the exact amount of change that is in the pockets of the viewer. (B) In the second, you perceive the image of the object that the viewer is currently thinking about, only intending to take this object from the table. (C) And in the last experiment, you correctly predict which of the three drawn figures the spectator will take from the table. With a small notepad and pencil on the table, you are ready to begin the experiment. Focus secret: First explain that you intend to demonstrate three different forms of extrasensory perception, and for this you need the help of three volunteers who are ready to take part in the experiment. Then ask the audience to gather in the hall and put on the table in front of the first spectator four or more small objects. 1. You can put any items on the table, the main thing is that they all be different. Suppose on the table were: an ashtray, a pen, a box of matches and a paper clip. 2. Take a notebook and tear out three blank sheets of paper from it. Draw a circle on one of them, a square on the second, and a triangle on the third. Put these three leaves in a row in front of another - not the first - volunteer. 3. Ask a third spectator to take out a wallet from his pocket with all the little things that he has. Ask him not to count the change, but to squeeze it in his fist. 4. Now you can start experimenting. Explain that the first experiment will be a test of clairvoyance, that is, the ability to see hidden objects. 5. Take a notebook so that no one can see what you are writing in it. To the spectator with "money" say: "I write down my impression of how much money is in your fist in small change." Naturally, you cannot write down this amount, because you do not yet know how much money he has in his fist! So you draw a circle in your notebook. 6. Tear off this sheet of notebook and fold it without letting anyone see what is written on it. Say that you designate this test as A and write a capital letter A on the outside of the piece of paper. In fact, mark this piece of paper with the letter C. 7. After marking the leaflet, put it out of sight of the audience. Be careful: viewers should not notice that the piece of paper is marked with the letter C. Place an opaque water mug or coffee cup on the piece of paper. 8. You can also use an ashtray or an upside down saucer for this. It doesn’t matter what you put the leaves under, the main thing is that the letters inscribed on them should not be seen by the audience. Suppose you put the leaves in an empty jar. 9. Putting a piece of paper in a jug, invite viewer A to count the coins on the table and leave them there for everyone to see. It turned out that he had, say, $1. 10. Now you turn to the second viewer and say: "I will conduct a telepathic perception test with you. This means that I will perceive the image that is already formed in your brain. To do this, I ask you to concentrate on the image of one of the four objects, which are on the table, on the object that you are going to pick up. Tell me that you have made a decision, but do not say which one, and do not pick up the object until I write down in a notebook what image of the object was sent by you." 11. And you write down in your notebook, not the name of the item, because you don't know it yet, but the amount of change that is on the table, recalculated in experiment A, namely, 1 dollar 36 cents. 12. Obtaining information about one experiment with secret use of it is subsequently called the "Principle of one step ahead." 13. Tear off the piece of paper and fold it, explaining that test B has been performed and you mark the piece of paper with the letter B. In fact, you write the letter A on the piece of paper. 14. Put a leaf in a jug to the first. 15. Invite the viewer to take the object from the table, the image of which he sent you. Suppose he took a matchbox. 16. You propose to the third viewer to conduct an experiment related to foresight. This means that you will predict a certain outcome before the viewer performs an action that ends with one or another result. 17. Write down the result in a notepad, but actually write down the name of the object that spectator B is holding in his hand - a matchbox. 18. Tear off the piece of paper, fold it and say that you mark this test with the letter C. In fact, you mark the piece of paper with the letter B, as shown in the figure. 19. Put the leaf in the jug next to the others. 20. Now you have to force the viewer to choose from three leaves the one on which the circle is drawn. This operation is called "Forced Choice", although the viewer assumes that the choice is free. The forced choice method that follows is called Magician's Choice. 21. Show the viewer three pictures in which three figures are drawn. Ask him to point to any of the three shapes. The following three situations are possible: 22. Situation one: he points to a circle and you say: "Take the picture you have chosen and hold it in your hand." 23. When the viewer picks up a drawing of a circle, you take the other two drawings and tear them apart with the words: "We won't need them anymore." 24. The second situation: the viewer points to a square or a triangle, you take the picture that he pointed to and tear it apart with words ... 25. "Great, I tear it apart and only two pieces remain." 26. You ask him to pick up one of the remaining drawings. 27. One of two, or he picks up a piece of paper with a circle ... 28. ...and you tear up the piece of paper that was left on the table, explaining: "Well, since you have chosen a circle, we no longer need a triangle." 29. If he takes another sheet, you offer the viewer: 30. "Great, tear up the sheet, and only one figure will remain on the table" (circle). 31. Having successfully imposed a piece of paper with a circle on the viewer, you are ready to begin the "retribution". Take a jug and shake the leaves on the table. Ask each member of the audience to take the piece of paper that belongs to them and unfold it. When all the notes are expanded, it turns out that everything that is written in them with a pen is true. All three tests passed successfully! This is a very effective trick. It can be shown everywhere: all you need is a pencil and a few pieces of paper: "sleight of hand" is not required for it. But it is necessary to study the technique and rehearse it properly, and so that you do not think about which letter to put on which piece of paper. Practice the routine and have fun fooling your friends with mind reading from a distance.
