Focus Description:

You open an ordinary fan, from the surface of which two butterflies take off and begin to flutter. After a while, the butterflies land on the fan, you take them off and lower them into an open cylindrical box: having fluttered out of it, they continue their playful flight. You open the fan again and make butterflies fly to its surface.

Props:

Big beautiful feather bouquet of flowers.

Chinese fan.

Two paper butterflies, beautifully painted.

Focus secret:

Make two butterflies out of multi-colored tissue paper and connect them with a thin wire. When making butterflies, tissue paper should be torn, but not cut. The fan can be cut out of cardboard paper, which is not difficult and art.

Focus Trained Butterflies

Shortly before performing the trick, put a spacious bottle on the table, on the bottom of which pour soda and acid. Insert a funnel with a very wide top opening into the neck of the bottle, then mix small shot with fresh window putty and roll a ball of such a size that it, thrown into the funnel, can close the narrow opening. Pass a thread through the ball, one end of which tie a knot. Put a cardboard cylinder of such size on the bottle with a funnel that the entire apparatus is hidden in it. Putting the end of the thread (opposite the ball) on the table, pour water into the funnel. When you want to move the butterflies from the fan to the cylinder, quietly pull the end of the thread lying on the table: the ball that closes the funnel opening will rise and allow water to pass into the inside of the bottle.

From the action of water on soda with acid, a gas is formed, which with some force will rush into the hole and make the butterflies fly up. Put them back on the fan and let them flutter for a while. Of course, you should practice controlling the fan, but this is not as difficult as it seems at first glance.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Rarest eye color revealed 02.07.2023

Approximately 10 thousand years ago, all people on Earth had the same shade of eyes - brown. However, due to genetic changes, a modern person has several options for eye color: brown, blue and green. And green is the rarest.

According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), only 2% of the population has green eyes, making it the rarest. 79% of people on the planet have brown eyes, while the rest have blue eyes. Ophthalmologists explain that eye color is determined by the presence of melanin, which also colors hair and skin.

"People with brown eyes have a significant amount of melanin in the iris, while people with blue eyes have much less," says ophthalmologist and MD Yuna Rapoport.

Due to varying amounts of melanin, eye color can range from light blue to dark brown, while green is in the middle in terms of melanin content.

Ophthalmologists note that the thickness of the iris also affects eye color. For example, if a person has a low melanin content and a thin shell, the eyes will have a blue or gray tint. Doctors have also explained why some people develop purple eyes. Under certain conditions, the environment reflects light at a certain angle, which can temporarily give blue eyes a purple tint.
