Focus Description:

Five simple envelopes are handed out in the hall. Everyone who receives an envelope is asked to put some small object in it and then seal it. The spectator collects the envelopes, shuffles them carefully and hands them to the magician. The magician openly lowers the envelopes into a glass vase and explains to the audience that the underexplored phenomenon of psychometry is based on the theory that by picking up objects belonging to a certain person, you can call up in your mind the image of that person, despite the fact that the object is sealed in an envelope.

Demonstrating the correctness of this theory, the magician takes one of the envelopes and applies it to his forehead. Without hesitation, he declares that the item in the envelope belongs to a young girl. Opening the envelope, he shakes the item into his palm. Holding the object in his fist, the magician, listening to the vibrations emitted by the object, gives a detailed description of the owner of the object. Finally, he descends into the hall and, wandering around it, approaches the surprised girl with mystical precision.

With the remaining four envelopes and their contents, everything is exactly repeated with the same success.

When performed properly, the focus makes an extremely strong impression. Some professional magicians have made a name for themselves on it alone. We emphasize again: it is important that you present this trick as entertainment, assuring the audience that this is just a demonstration of the phenomenon of psychometry.

Focus secret:

(A) You will need several plain white postage envelopes, approximately 9 by 16 cm. Four of the five envelopes are prepared, namely, a dot is made in the corner of the envelope with a pencil, and on each envelope in its own corner, different from the rest of the envelopes. The dots are placed on the side on which the valve is located, in pencil, very pale, so that they are invisible to the audience.

(B) Each of the four dots corresponds to a specific viewer. The fifth envelope does not have a dot. Stack the envelopes in such an order that the viewer can be calculated by the points that in each subsequent envelope are shifted to the next corner clockwise, starting from the upper left corner, as shown in the figure.

Focus Mind Reading Gypsy

1. Taking envelopes stacked in a pile in a certain order, you pass them to the audience in the hall, moving along the hall from left to right. You just need to remember which envelope you gave to whom.

2. Returning to the stage, invite the audience to put a small item in the envelope, seal it in the envelope, and give it to another audience member. Ask this spectator to collect the envelopes, mix them as you wish, and give them to you.

Surprise for real!!! Props for every taste in the largest Focus Store.

3. Drop the envelopes into a clear vase. Taking the first envelope out of it, bend the flap up and find the dot. Now you know to whom this envelope was given.

4. Put the envelope to your forehead and slowly determine who owns the thing in it: a man or a woman. For example, your speech might be: "There is a powerful vibration coming out of the envelope. Yes, the item in the envelope seems to belong to a man in his thirties, maybe a little younger."

5. At this point, open the envelope and drop the item into your hand. Putting the torn envelope aside, hold the object in your fist and begin to identify the details of the owner's appearance that you either see from the stage or, better, remember when you handed the envelope to him.

6. After listing the details, go down to the hall and walk along it, as if guided by the force of the vibrations of the object held in your hand, successfully and dramatically completing the search for the owner.

7. Repeat the procedure for the four remaining envelopes. When you're done, the trick will make a lasting impression, especially if it's very different from the other tricks in your program.

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Implanted brain stimulator 30.04.2024

In recent years, scientific research in the field of neurotechnology has made enormous progress, opening new horizons for the treatment of various psychiatric and neurological disorders. One of the significant achievements was the creation of the smallest implanted brain stimulator, presented by a laboratory at Rice University. Called Digitally Programmable Over-brain Therapeutic (DOT), this innovative device promises to revolutionize treatments by providing more autonomy and accessibility to patients. The implant, developed in collaboration with Motif Neurotech and clinicians, introduces an innovative approach to brain stimulation. It is powered through an external transmitter using magnetoelectric power transfer, eliminating the need for wires and large batteries typical of existing technologies. This makes the procedure less invasive and provides more opportunities to improve patients' quality of life. In addition to its use in treatment, resist ... >>

The perception of time depends on what one is looking at 29.04.2024

Research in the field of the psychology of time continues to surprise us with its results. Recent discoveries by scientists from George Mason University (USA) turned out to be quite remarkable: they discovered that what we look at can greatly influence our sense of time. During the experiment, 52 participants took a series of tests, estimating the duration of viewing various images. The results were surprising: the size and detail of the images had a significant impact on the perception of time. Larger, less cluttered scenes created the illusion of time slowing down, while smaller, busier images gave the feeling of time speeding up. Researchers suggest that visual clutter or detail overload can make it difficult to perceive the world around us, which in turn can lead to faster perception of time. Thus, it was shown that our perception of time is closely related to what we look at. Larger and smaller ... >>

Radio receiver VICTOR RA-BF3 with sound delay system 25.08.2004

The Japanese company Victor Company of Japan, known in Russia by the JVC trademark, has released a new Victor RA-BF3 radio receiver with a sound delay system.

A little earlier, the same company introduced a TV with a similar system. NHK's proprietary audio slowdown system improves speech intelligibility, particularly in radio news broadcasts. The received sound is recorded in the built-in buffer, after which it slows down, deciphering the "patters" of the speakers. The system automatically monitors the duration of pauses in programs and adjusts the speed of audio playback.

The Victor RA-BF3 model is capable of receiving radio broadcasts in the FM and AM bands, as well as the sound of television broadcasts in the meter range. The receiver has an analog tuning system and features large buttons for ease of use.

The device reproduces monophonic sound, has a built-in 10 cm loudspeaker and a headphone output; amplifier power 800 mW. There is a 60 minute shutdown timer.
