Readers are offered a regenerative receiver (see figure) based on a well-known two-transistor emitter-coupled generator [1]. In order for the device to perform the functions of receiving, detecting and amplifying radio station signals, an WA3 antenna is connected to its tunable circuit and C1, a variable resistor R4 is introduced to control the generation mode, and a load resistor R2 is installed to highlight the low-frequency signal. Amplifies the signal cascade low-noise field effect transistor VT3.

Universal detector

In the under-excited mode, the device can be used as a regenerative detector for receiving AM signals from radio broadcasting stations operating in the LW, MW and HF bands; In the generation mode, which is set by the resistor K4, which regulates the feedback by changing the generator supply voltage, the device turns into a direct conversion receiver that receives CW and SSB signals in beat mode. In the capture mode, fluctuations by the input signal (when setting up the L1C3 circuit on a VHF station) - the receiver will receive FM signals. In this case, it is more expedient to apply the signal from the antenna to the emitters of transistors VT1, VT2.

The greatest effect from the use of this device is achieved when using it as an IF path and an FM receiver detector. For this purpose, 3-4 turns of wire should be wound on the IF circuit of the VHF receiver mixer, one end of which should be connected to the common wire, and the other end through a 75 Ohm resistor to the input of the device (excluding WA1, C1, L1C3). With this inclusion of the function of the oscillatory circuit of the generator, L1C3 performs the IF circuit of the receiver mixer, connected to the generator through the newly wound coupling coil. The proposed detection method gives a lot of scope for building a wide variety of detecting devices by using a wide variety of AF amplifiers, changing the methods of switching on the oscillatory circuit, and reducing the supply voltage down to 1,5 V.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Believers live longer 05.12.2000

This conclusion was reached by a group of American psychologists after analyzing the results of 42 independent studies conducted on this topic since 1977.

They took into account the life expectancy of 125 people (mostly North Americans) compared with survey data on their attitudes towards religion. It turned out that the life expectancy of believers is on average higher than that of atheists.

The researchers put forward three possible reasons for this. First, many believers do not use tobacco and alcohol, not to mention drugs. Secondly, believers usually have more social contacts (they regularly go to church and communicate with fellow believers), their families are more stable, and it has long been proven that both of these factors contribute to longevity. Thirdly, religion often gives people positive emotions and relieves depression.
