The proposed simple device allows you to quickly find the faulty node of the electronic ignition system. Its scheme is shown in the figure. The device consists of a pulse generator assembled on the DD1 chip and the VT1 transistor to start the electronic switch of the ignition system and the HL1 LED, which serves as an indicator of the pulses generated by the Hall sensor installed in the ignition distributor. The operating mode of the device is selected by switch SA1: D - sensor check; K - check of the electronic switch; R - work.

The socket XS1, brought out of the device with a bundle of three wires 0,5 m long, is connected to the plug on the ignition distributor, disconnecting from it the socket that terminates the wiring harness coming from the electronic switch. The socket disconnected from the ignition distributor is connected to the XP1 plug of the device. Pin 1 should be connected to the white-black wire of the harness, pin 2 - green, pin 3 - magenta.

From the ignition distributor, remove the central high-voltage wire coming from the ignition coil and connect it to the central electrode of the control spark plug. It can be any serviceable candle, including a used one. Connect its body to the body of the car. To do this, you can use a large crocodile clip.

Switch SA1 set to position P. Turn on the ignition, and crank the engine with a starter, observing sparks in the gap of the control candle. If they are present and follow without gaps, then the ignition system is working. Otherwise, it has a malfunction.

Move switch SA1 to position K. With the ignition on, turn the engine with a starter while simultaneously turning the knob of the variable resistor R3 "Turns". In all positions of the variable resistor, white sparks should regularly jump in the gap of the control candle. If there are no sparks, they follow with gaps or disappear in some positions of the variable resistor engine, then the electronic switch is faulty and must be replaced.

If it is serviceable, move switch SA1 to position D and, without turning off the ignition, turn the engine with a starter. If the HL1 LED flashes brightly periodically, then the Hall sensor is working. Otherwise, it must be replaced.

To check if the ignition distributor slider is broken, set switch SA1 to position K. Remove the distributor cover and with a 50 cm long piece of high-voltage wire with small alligator connectors at both ends, connect the slider contact to the central electrode of the control candle, to which the wire is already connected from the ignition coil.

Crank the engine with the starter with the ignition on, and at the same time turn the knob of the variable resistor R3. In all positions of the variable resistor, white sparks should regularly jump in the gap of the control candle. If they are not there or they follow with gaps or disappear in any position of the variable resistor engine, then the slider should be replaced.

Before checking the serviceability of the ignition distributor cap, set the switch to position K. With the ignition off, slowly turn the engine crankshaft to such a position that the slider is exactly in the middle between any adjacent contacts of the cover leading to the candles in the cylinders. Put the cover on the distributor and alternately insert the high-voltage wire (which connected the slider to the control candle) into each of the five slots in the cover, each time turning on the ignition. The control candle should give full sparks in all positions of the variable resistor R3 engine. If there are no sparks when connecting to at least one socket, the cover must be replaced with a new one.

Now the electronic ignition system has been fully tested, it remains to replace the faulty elements.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Echoes of an ancient earthquake 28.11.2001

As a group of French and Swiss seismologists has shown, in the area of Basel (Switzerland) one can still catch the echoes of an earthquake with a power of 6-6,5 points that happened here on October 18, 1356.

It is known from medieval chronicles that the city suffered huge damage at that time, and around it three dozen knightly castles were destroyed. Thin seismographs and now note small tremors. To the south of Basel, geologists have found an active fault zone, which in the future can cause earthquakes every one and a half to two and a half thousand years. Over the past 8500 years, this area has risen by 180 centimeters due to tectonic processes.

The next earthquake here will occur no earlier than in a thousand years, but experts are already recommending the development of new safety standards for local nuclear power plants and chemical plants.
