Focus Description:

The king turns into a jester.

Focus secret:

On a thin sheet of paper, cut out the outline of the face. On the back, mark the future fold line with a pencil. Use a needle or knife to follow the line, scoring the paper but not cutting through it. Cut a hole in the center for the nose. On the back of the nose part, along the dotted line indicated in the figure, also make an incision with the same sharp object.

Focus The king and the jester

Color the parts as shown in the pictures. Insert a nose into the picture. When the “nose” and “collar” are lowered, the head of the king is obtained on the front side.

If you quickly raise your nose and collar up, the king turns into a jester. This can be done if you turn the king over with its back side facing the audience - face down. Then the nose and collar will lower by themselves. Return it to its original position, holding the nose and collar with your fingers, and the audience will see the jester instead of the king.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

64-layer V-NAND Flash and SSD 14.08.2016

Samsung Electronics showcased its latest flash memory solutions at Flash Memory Summit 2016. In particular, fourth-generation V-NAND flash memory chips and large-capacity drives are shown.

The new V-NAND flash memory includes 64 layers - 30% more than its predecessor. Each cell is capable of storing three bits of information. The density of the crystal is 512 Gbps, and the data transfer rate it supports reaches 800 Mbps. These parameters are a record for the industry. In mass-produced products, the new memory will begin to appear in the next quarter.

The first use of the new memory was a 2,5-inch 32TB SAS SSD. According to Samsung, this is the most capacious SSD in its category. It uses 512 new V-NAND chips, which are grouped in 16 pieces in 32 packages. The serial production of such SSDs is planned to begin in 2017, and by 2020 Samsung expects to begin production of SSDs with a capacity of more than 100 TB.

The Samsung exposition is completed by a single-case 1TB SSD in a BGA package. It includes V-NAND, LPDDR4 DRAM and controller dies. This drive offers read speeds up to 1500MB/s and write speeds up to 900MB/s.

In addition, the manufacturer announced the creation of Z-SSD solid-state drives, which are characterized by very low latency and high data transfer rates, overcoming the limitations of current NVMe models. Samsung promises to introduce these drives next year.
