Focus Description:

The magician casually takes a magazine from the table and begins to leaf through it, as if familiarizing himself with the contents. After looking through the entire magazine, the artist folds it into an envelope, takes a glass of water from the assistant and pours the water between the pages of the magazine. Then, as if nothing had happened, he opens the magazine again and continues to leaf through it, page by page. The audience is perplexed - where did the water go? After all, she didn’t disappear without a trace between the pages of an ordinary magazine?

The audience begins to speculate about what happened, and at this time the magician, having finished the secondary viewing of the magazine, folds it back into an envelope, takes a glass and pours water from the magazine into it.

Focus secret:

For this trick you will need an ordinary magazine and a plastic bag. This bag is absolutely waterproof and holds water perfectly. This is the secret of the trick:

Focus Amazing Magazine

The performer takes a plastic bag slightly smaller than a magazine sheet and glues it between the pages of the magazine approximately in the middle. Such a bag is glued with BF-2 glue, which holds such materials very well, in the upper part and on both sides. Glue is applied in a small amount in a narrow strip to the outer side of the upper edges of the bag. The edge of one side of the bag is glued to one page of the magazine, and the edge of the other to the opposite page:

Focus Amazing Magazine

The edges of the bag and the magazine pages between which it is glued must match. Under no circumstances should the bag stick out between the pages, otherwise it will be noticeable. The bag glued in this way turns into a secret pocket in which water disappears.

Before you start displaying your number, you must carefully check the waterproofness of your pocket. If there is a small hole in it, then the trick is doomed to fail.

This trick should be demonstrated calmly and without any fuss. So, the magazine with a bag glued into it is placed in advance on the illusion table, where other items intended for the performance are also located. The more naturally the performer looks at the magazine, the more effective the trick will be.

After looking through the magazine, the artist closes it and folds it in four with an envelope. Then he opens it where the secret pocket is glued, takes a glass of water from his assistant and pours the water into the envelope:

Focus Amazing Magazine

Now, having unfolded the magazine again, it should be held in a vertical position so that the water goes to the bottom of the pocket and the artist can continue to look at the magazine. After flipping through a few pages, the performer folds it back into an envelope, then opens it at the place where the pocket is glued in, and pours the water back into the glass:

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The threat of space debris to the Earth's magnetic field 01.05.2024

More and more often we hear about an increase in the amount of space debris surrounding our planet. However, it is not only active satellites and spacecraft that contribute to this problem, but also debris from old missions. The growing number of satellites launched by companies like SpaceX creates not only opportunities for the development of the Internet, but also serious threats to space security. Experts are now turning their attention to the potential implications for the Earth's magnetic field. Dr. Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics emphasizes that companies are rapidly deploying satellite constellations, and the number of satellites could grow to 100 in the next decade. The rapid development of these cosmic armadas of satellites can lead to contamination of the Earth's plasma environment with dangerous debris and a threat to the stability of the magnetosphere. Metal debris from used rockets can disrupt the ionosphere and magnetosphere. Both of these systems play a key role in protecting the atmosphere and maintaining ... >>

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Robot Land 29.01.2014

The term for the construction of the Robot Land park in South Korea has been determined. An amusement park dedicated to robots will start operating in 2016. Moreover, part of the park will start functioning even earlier - in 2015, according to the Robohub website.

The unusual park will consist of two sites: entertaining and educational. The entertainment area will include rides and other fun activities. As for the educational platform, it will be represented by an exhibition center, a conference hall, a research and development center and educational institutions.

In 2018, upon completion of the second phase of construction, residential real estate will also appear next to the park.

The construction of the park is financed by the South Korean government and commercial companies. The total investment is estimated at $660 million. The Robot Land park has an area of 120 hectares. To date, 89% of the land on which the park will be built has already been purchased by the project initiators.

The Robot Land website says that the park will provide an opportunity to "experience the world of future robots with all five senses." Among the facilities planned to be built in the entertainment part of the park are the arena for "robot games", the "Robot History" pavilion, as well as an aquarium with "lobster robots", "jellyfish robots" and "fish robots".

GlobalPost specifies that the park will feature a 111-meter statue of the robot Taekwon V, the hero of the popular Korean animated film. The robot will support the roller coaster with its arm.

The park was designed in 2007. The opening date of Robot Land was postponed several times: first it was reported that it would start operating in 2012, then it was called 2014.
