In the once very famous and still preserved by many radio amateurs, the Accord electrophone can be introduced into an operating mode close to Karaoke, which is popular at various musical evenings and discos. The proposed refinement provides only the superposition of the signal from the external microphone on the reproduced phonogram, but even this is enough to obtain the desired effect. Other electrophones can be modified in a similar way.

The refinement is as follows: an additional connector X1 is fixed on the body of the electrophone (Fig. 1). Its conclusions are connected by wires (preferably shielded) to the input circuits of the amplifier. When you need to get the "Karaoke" mode, an MKE-3 electret microphone is connected to the connector, the supply voltage to which comes from the amplifier through pins 4 and 2 of the connector. Resistor R1 reduces the shunt effect of the relatively low microphone output impedance on the amplifier input circuits.

Microphone 1 (Fig. 2) was installed by the author into housing 3 of a failed MD282 microphone and fixed with screws 8 on a plastic centering sleeve. A spring clip is placed between the sleeve and adapter 7 (it is made of wood), into which a protective mesh 2 is inserted, the role of which can be played by a tea strainer.

The MKE-3 leads are shortened, and two of them are soldered to insulated stranded mounting conductors (red and white in Fig. 3), placed in a shielding braid - it is connected to the remaining microphone lead. The resulting cable 6 is led out through the hole in the wooden plug 4, having previously wound a thread bandage 5, which prevents the cable from being pulled out. At the end of the cable, the counterpart of the X1 connector is installed.

By connecting the microphone to the electrophone, the volume of the reproduced melody is set so that the accompanying speech (or singing) of the presenter is clearly audible. To avoid self-excitation due to acoustic coupling between the microphone and the loudspeaker of the electrophone, they must be separated by a sufficient distance and the spatial orientation of the microphone must be selected. In addition, it is possible to narrow the microphone's directivity pattern by wrapping its body (but not covering the microphone holes) with foam rubber 6...8 mm thick so that the resulting horn touches the protective grid.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Intelligent ATM Fujitsu 21.07.2014

The Fujitsu ATM 100 series solution, an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) with Cash Recycling technology, has been certified by the European Central Bank (ECB).

"For banknote processing devices used in Europe, ECB certification is a mandatory requirement that allows you to guarantee the quality and reliability of the circulation of euro banknotes," the company stressed.

According to Fujitsu, the Fujitsu ATM 100 series solution, created specifically for the European market and designed to detect and track counterfeit bank notes, as well as sort and process Euro banknotes, passed the following tests: authentication - detection and seizure of counterfeit bank notes; compliance - sorting banknotes and removing accepted banknotes that are unsuitable for issuance to customers, for example, dirty and torn; tracking - tracking customer information when identifying counterfeit bank notes.

All in all, the Fujitsu ATM 100 series solution is an intelligent ATM. It provides: a variety of models for receiving banknotes and dispensing accepted banknotes (customers can choose the most suitable model for accepting and dispensing banknotes, for example, a simple model or a standard model, depending on the frequency of receiving banknotes); compliance with the latest security standards, such as PCI 3.0, physical security and data protection; physical protection and active protection functions to prevent skimming of bank cards (copying personal data undertaken by criminals) - allow you to detect a scanning device and disable it; secure user authentication using Fujitsu PalmSecure technology; support for NFC functionality (Near Field Communication - short-range radio technology) - opens up the possibility of accepting NFC payments from mobile devices.

Also, ATM front panel templates help to adapt its appearance in accordance with customer requirements.
