In order to be able to use conventional electrical equipment powered by 220 V AC on the road or on vacation, radio amateurs collect various ones. On fig. 4.35 shows a diagram of one of these devices. The circuit consists of three functional units: a master multivibrator that generates a pulsed voltage with a frequency of 50 Hz, with an output inverter, a push-pull transistor switch power amplifier and a step-up transformer.

Converter 12/220 volts for hiking

The multivibrator is made on a D1 chip, on elements D1.1 and D1.2. Its frequency depends on the ratings of R1 and C1. At the output of the multivibrator, an inverter on D1.4 is turned on, which creates anti-phase signals supplied to the bases of transistors VT1 and VT2, then a push-pull power amplifier on transistors VT3 and VT4 follows, loaded on the low-voltage winding of the power transformer T1, as a result, a pulsed current flows in this winding . At the output of the transformer, a high voltage is formed, which is close to sinusoidal in shape. The circuit, consisting of the step-up winding of this transformer and capacitor C4, is tuned to a frequency of 50 Hz, which further increases the sinusoidality of the output voltage. Instead of the K561LN2 chip, you can use any inverters from the K561 series, for example, the K561LA7 or K561LE5 chip, the inputs of each of the elements of which are connected together (so that a simple inverter is obtained from the AND-NOT or OR-NOT element).

KT973 transistors - with any letter index, KT805 transistors can be replaced with KT819, also with any letter indices, any network transformer with a power of 50 ... 100 W is suitable as a step-up transformer, the primary winding of which is designed for 220 V, and two secondary ones for 10 ... 15 V each (or one with a tap in the middle of 20 ... 30 V), The transformer is turned on the other way around, the low-voltage winding is the "I" winding, and the high-voltage winding is "II". Transistors VT4 and VT3 must be installed on radiators that provide reliable heat dissipation.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

mechanical dragonfly 08.12.2005

The firm "Silmash" (Besançon, France) has created a prototype of a dragonfly robot.

About 180 "artificial muscle fibers" one micron wide and 150 microns long are galvanochemically engraved on its wings, which are three centimeters long and one hundredth of a millimeter thick. They contract and relax in rhythm with the alternating tension applied to the wings. Each such micromotor weighs only 9 nanograms, but its power per gram is as much as 100 watts.

As a result of the joint action of these microscopic muscles, dragonfly wings beat at a frequency of 10 hertz and an amplitude of 40 degrees, like a real insect. The total weight of a dragonfly with a battery is 120 milligrams.
