Currently, our market has a large selection of Chinese-made electronic devices. These products are characterized by low price and, as a result, low reliability. As a rule, electrical circuits are missing, which makes repairs difficult.

The author had to repair a charger (charger) for a cell phone worth 180 rubles, which failed 1 second after being plugged into the network. The device is placed in a plastic case with a power plug. The charger is connected to a cell phone by a cord with a connector at the end. The diagram of the device is shown in the figure. The numbering of parts - the author.

Cell phone charger repair

The basis of the memory is a switching power supply. The maximum output voltage is 12 V, the maximum output current in the operating mode is 0,5 A. Some functions of the charger are performed by the cell phone itself, for example, it determines the moment when charging is completed.

In a faulty memory, transistors VT1, VT2, VT3 were broken and resistor R1 was cut off. The breakdown of the VT3 transistor occurred, most likely, due to moisture condensation under the case cover during storage, since the soldering points on the board are not varnished, and the distance between the contact pads of the drain and the VT3 gate is no more than 1,5 mm.

Transistor VT3 was replaced by IRFBE30, VT1 - by KT209A. The board was covered with several layers of zapon varnish. It is advisable to drill several holes in the case cover opposite the VT3 transistor, since it is installed without a heat sink.

After repair, the charger is successfully used to charge a battery of three nickel-cadmium batteries in an Ericsson cell phone.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

sea turtle chemical cocktail 09.06.2017

Australian biologists have found contaminants of drugs for heart disease and hyperuricemia, as well as cosmetic and household chemicals in the bloodstream of green turtles.

The biologists examined the turtles, which showed signs of inflammation and liver dysfunction. It turned out that in the bloodstream of animals there are impurities of drugs for heart disease and hyperuricemia, as well as cosmetic and industrial chemicals.

The researchers studied the condition of the turtles living along the coast of Queensland, as well as the inhabitants of the outlying islands north of the reef. The study was carried out within the framework of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Australia.

According to Amy Heffernan from the University of Queensland, people constantly "leave" a chemical trail behind them, but it is still unclear what effect it has on the environment.

WWF Australia experts suggest that the obtained data on the state of turtles can become a tool for biological monitoring. With it, they want to find out what chemicals get into the waters and how they affect marine life.

Researchers have previously found that the chemical oxybenzone used in sunscreen is causing massive damage to coral reefs around the world. According to the study, it causes deformation of young corals.
