This set-top box gives the properties of a color-musical installation to an ordinary TV set, changing the colors of the image according to the sound acoustic signal. When using it, the television image changes color when the audience talks.

Another use of the prefix is the color accompaniment of musical television programs in order to increase their entertainment. The color of the television image will then change depending on the frequency and amplitude of the musical signal. So, instead of blue and red, green appears, and green changes to blue. Instead of a crimson hue, purple or brown appears. White parts of the TV picture become pinkish. There are many different color combinations.

The attachment diagram is shown in Figure 1.

TV - color and music installation
Rice. 1. Schematic diagram of a color prefix to a TV

The sound acoustic signal is perceived by an active microphone of the "Shoroh-1" type, the signal from which is fed through resistors R1, R6 and R11 to filters of higher, medium and lower frequencies of the audio range, assembled on transistors VT1, VT3 and VT5, as well as on capacitors C2, C4 and C6, dividing the audio signal into high, medium and low frequencies. The high-frequency signal from the collector of the transistor VT1 enters through the detector on the diode VD1 and the capacitor C3, on which a constant voltage is allocated, which is proportional in magnitude to the level of the high-frequency components. This voltage opens the transistor VT2, the collector of which is connected through the resistor R5 to the green channel of the TV, which weakens. As a result, the green areas of the image become blue.

The mid-frequency signal from the collector of the transistor VT3 passes through a detector made on the diode VD2 and capacitor C5. The voltage after charging the capacitor C5 through the resistor R9 opens the transistor VT4, the collector of which is connected through the resistor R10 to the red channel of the TV, thereby weakening it in the image and causing other shades and colors to appear.

The low-frequency signal is taken from the collector of the VT5 transistor and enters through the detector on the VD3 diode and capacitor C7 in the form of a constant voltage proportional to the level of the low-frequency component, which open the VT14 transistor through the resistor R6, the collector of which is connected to the blue channel of the TV, weakening the blue color by image and enhancing the green.

Rice. 2. Topology of the printed circuit board of the color prefix (dimensions 55x55 mm)

The prefix is designed to work with kinescope TVs. The connection is made to the primary color channels on the kinescope board. The common wire is connected to the common wire of the TV.

For color accompaniment of TV programs, the device must be installed near the television receiver, pointing the microphone at the TV speaker, set the variable resistors R1, R6 and R11 to the middle position. If there is a music program, the remote control increases the sound volume of the TV until a change in the color of the television image appears for each of the color channels, adjusting the regulators of the resistors R1, R6 and R11 accordingly.

At the end of the music program, the remote control should reduce the sound of the TV until the color change on the screen disappears. Thus, by adjusting the sound level of the TV with the remote control, you can control the color set itself.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

Iron mining on Mars 09.08.2022

Australian researchers at Swinburne University of Technology have developed a process to produce iron on Mars. They propose using concentrated sunlight as an energy source, and extracting iron from regolith using carbothermal reduction.

Experiments on the Perseverance rover demonstrated the possibility of extracting oxygen on the Red Planet through the electrolysis of carbon dioxide (CO2). During this process, a large amount of carbon monoxide (CO) is released as a by-product. The researchers propose to combine the oxygen plant with the production of iron to use by-products.

In their calculations, the scientists showed that the hot gas produced by the electrolysis of carbon dioxide would be rich in CO (91%). It can be used to preheat regolith. In addition, by condensing the monoxide, pure carbon can be obtained.

The researchers analyzed the composition of the Martian regolith (soil) and found that by adding 10% carbon to it at a temperature of 1120 ° C and a pressure of 7 mbar (atmospheric pressure on Mars), liquid iron can be obtained with a conversion of 99,9%. In this case, the alloy will contain a small amount of impurities of carbon, silicon, phosphorus and chromium.

The resulting material can be used for the independent production of various machines and devices for a colony on Mars. The technology is based solely on local materials and does not require the delivery of goods from Earth.
