Skin care products for face and hands. Simple recipes and tips Directory / Factory technology at home - simple recipes Skin care products are items of daily use. These funds are used mainly in the form of creams. There are creams free from fats and containing fats. Creams containing fats are emulsions or ointment-like substances. In the first case, they contain water along with fat. Fat-free creams are composed of a water-binding substance (gelatin, starch, vegetable slime, tragacanth, etc.), water and glycerin. To give stability to fat-free creams, it is recommended to add 1-4 g of formalin per 5 kg of cream. For the same purpose, benzoic or salicylic acid is also added. Fat-free creams can be mixed with oils and solid fats in a melted state. If necessary, the consistency of fat-free creams is increased by increasing the amount of binder. For normal skin, fat-free creams are used, since they form a kind of thin dressing that protects the skin from all atmospheric influences, and besides, such creams have a beneficial effect on the skin due to the presence of glycerin. For hand skin care, especially with frequent contact with water, soda or soap solutions, it is rational to use fatty creams, especially those containing lanolin. Fat-free creams also include soap creams, which in most cases have as a base a stearic-potassium soap made from stearin (stearic acid) and potash. Soap creams in winter are not suitable for the care of sensitive skin, since the soap that serves as a base in them makes the skin brittle in most cases and contributes to the formation of barely noticeable cracks, which naturally react to cold even more than smooth skin. In the manufacture of soap creams, you need to test whether the substances that make up these creams are compatible with soap. With fat-containing creams, powdered substances, such as zinc oxide, sulfur, etc., as well as alcohol solutions, tinctures, etc., can also be ground. Saponified creams consist of potassium stearate (potassium stearic soap) dissolved in a glycerin-water mixture. The best preparations are obtained by using pure stearin (stearic acid), uncontaminated by liquid fatty acids. In the manufacture of such a cream, the mass, due to the release of carbon dioxide, rises strongly and foams, as a result of which voluminous dishes should be used in such cases. Here are some recipes for saponified creams. Light cream 9 g of potash are dissolved in a mixture of 700 g of water and 300 g of glycerin, heated to a boil and 90% of molten stearin is added slowly in a thin stream with constant stirring. As soon as the formation of carbon dioxide stops, the heating is stopped and another 30 g of pure alcohol are added with stirring. It turns out a snow-white cream, easily impregnating the skin. If solid substances (zinc oxide, sulfur, etc.) are added to the cooled cream while stirring, then it first becomes soft, and after 24 hours it hardens again. Acid-reacting substances should not be added to this cream. Invisible cold cream
Melt the paraffin with a small amount of water in a water bath. Slowly add ammonia diluted with hot water. Beat well, while the mixture gives a lot of foam. Then add glycerin, borax and the rest of the water. Keep at moderate temperature. Mix well and beat. Walnut cream In the above recipe, water is replaced with nut extract, or even better, a mixture of equal parts of water and extract. Perfumes for this cream should not be consumed at all. The nut extract should be added at the very end, as heating the nut extract with paraffin and stearic acid will cause a large loss of extract. Cold cream with hydrogen peroxide
Mix stearic acid, soda, borax and glycerin. Pour in the water and heat slowly until the hissing (bubbles) stops. The mixture is churned for 30 minutes, after which lanolin and a little perfume oil are added for smell. When the mixture is completely cool, add a XNUMX% hydrogen peroxide solution and stir.
