ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Electricity and our health. Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / Medicine Everyone knows that a person should regularly engage in physical education (or labor) in the fresh air. Here, there are hundreds of times more negative oxygen ions than indoors, and atmospheric electricity is present. It is known that a constant electric field is a natural factor of nature [1]. It is a pity that there is no such electric field inside the buildings (except to remove the roof). The equipotential surfaces of the electric field of the earth's atmosphere go around the buildings, and inside them the gradient of the electric field of the atmosphere is zero. At the same time, in good weather outside buildings, this gradient is 100 V/m. During a thunderstorm and even more - up to 40000 V / m. If the negative electrode of a constant high voltage source is connected to a metal tip or a thin wire (less than 0,15 mm in diameter), and the positive electrode is grounded, then an electric discharge will occur between the tip and the ground (this is the ceiling, walls and floor of the room). This phenomenon can be used to correct the situation in the room. To ensure the required characteristics, the voltage between the electrodes must be more than 300-500 V. As a negative electrode, I used ... an emitter from the "Chizhevsky chandelier". This chandelier contributes to the concentration of fine dust on the ceiling, as mentioned in [2]. Therefore, several designs of desktop air ionizers were made in order to get rid of the "binding" to the ceilings. In addition, the chandelier creates great inconvenience when a voltage of more than 25 kV is applied to it. In this case, you can’t sit under the chandelier for a long time, and you can’t do this. It is a completely different matter when a voltage of 500-1500 V is applied to it. And the ceiling does not need to be cleaned of dust, and there is a benefit. If from the "Chizhevsky's chandelier" "goosebumps" and other unpleasant effects were felt on the body, then the supply of a potential of 1-2 kV is hardly perceptible, but it has a more than tangible effect on the productivity of mental labor. Prior to using room electrostatics, I simply could not sit for hours on end without forced exercise and significant breaks. After installing a chandelier with a potential of 880 V (or 1760 V) above the working desk, the situation changed dramatically. Surprisingly, the effect of increasing the productivity of mental labor turned out to be greater than that of air ionizers. If the amount of negative ions can still be replenished by airing the premises, then atmospheric electricity with air cannot be attracted in any way. Therefore, it is necessary to restore the electrical microclimate. The scheme according to which the tests were carried out is shown in Fig.1. As you can see, this is a voltage multiplier by eight. There are two output voltages of 880 or 1760 V. Resistors R1 and R2 are current limiters and fuses at the same time. Resistors R5, R6, R7 exclude electric shock when hands touch the chandelier. The LED has an indicator that the device is connected to the network (elements R3, R4, VD9, VD10). Naturally, you can also use a network transformer with a step-up winding, but the option in Fig. 1 is simpler and more reliable, and it works for days without turning off the mains voltage. Printed circuit boards are shown in Fig.2. If desired, the dimensions can be reduced several times, but I am not a supporter of the size of a matchbox. Details. Any diodes and capacitors for voltages over 600 V are suitable. In my development, 1N4007 diodes (1 A, 1000 V) and capacitors of the K7317 type with a capacity of 0,1 μF for a voltage of 630 V were used. Resistors R1 and R2 of the MLT-0,125 or 0,25 type . Resistors R3 and R4 type MLT-2. Green LED (although it doesn't matter). Resistors R5-R7 type BC-2. Each such resistor withstands, according to the specifications, a voltage of 1000 V (for MLT-2, 750 V is permissible, for MLT-1 - 500 V, for MLT-0,5 - 350 V, for MLT-0,25 - 250 V, for MLT-0,125 - 200 V). Based on these numbers, we collect the required number of selected types of resistors. Often there are ionizer circuits in which several resistors (or even one instance) limit the voltage to 25-50 kV! This must be done with special resistors such as KEV, C3-9, C3-14, etc. They are manufactured for high operating voltages and operate reliably. It is necessary to measure the voltage value at the outputs of a high-voltage multiplier with a kilovoltmeter with a high input resistance. Quite satisfactory accuracy is obtained when using any pointer meter with a total frame deviation at a current of 100 μA and an additional resistor with a resistance of 1 GΩ. As the last one, I used 10 KEV-2 resistors of 100 MΩ. In addition to me, two more people experienced "home electrostatics" and were very pleased with the results. The combined use of the air ionizer and the system under consideration is advantageous. Skeptics may be advised to refer to the medical literature, for example [3,4]. Atmospheric electricity is not just a safe factor, but a necessary condition for the normal functioning of the body. The use of static electricity for medicinal purposes is called "franklinization" [3]. References:
