"Proportional control equipment"- an article under this title was published in Radio, 2001, No. 11, 12. The author offers improved versions of the model's stroke controller and steering servo amplifier.

With a dedicated motor control chip TA7291P, the travel controller and servo amplifier can be simplified. This microcircuit is designed for load current (DC motor) up to 1,2 A. In fig. 1 shows a diagram of the stroke controller based on it.

Proportional control equipment

The single vibrator and the unit for generating difference pulses are made on elements DD1.1-DD1.4. The difference pulses from pins 10 and 11 of the DD1 microcircuit are fed through the "extension cables" on transistors VT1, VT2 to the inputs of the DA2 microcircuit.

The regulator is assembled on the printed circuit board shown in fig. 2. Capacitors C1, C3, C4 must be film, for example, K73-7. A selection of resistor R1 sets the pulse duration of the one-shot equal to 1,5 ms.

Proportional control equipment

If the collector of the electric motor M1 sparks strongly, the regulator may malfunction. The interference generated by the motor can be reduced by shunting it with two 0,1 uF capacitors connected in series. The connection point of the capacitors is connected to a common wire (pin 1 of the DA2 chip). The noise immunity of the regulator will improve the connection between each of the pins 10 and 11 of the DD1 chip and the common wire of capacitors with a capacity of 0,01 microfarads.

According to a scheme similar to that considered, it is possible to assemble a steering servo amplifier. In this case, the DA2 chip can be replaced with a cheaper TA7291S with less power. Instead of the resistor R1, three are installed connected in series. The middle of them is variable, mechanically connected to the axis of the steering device of the model. The ratings of each of the resistors are selected in such a way that, depending on the position of the steering wheel, the duration of the single vibrator pulse varies from 1 to 2 ms, amounting to 1,5 ms in the middle (neutral) position. The sum of the three resistors should still be approximately 220 kΩ.

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Primium Seneca keyboard 05.05.2024

Keyboards are an integral part of our daily computer work. However, one of the main problems that users face is noise, especially in the case of premium models. But with the new Seneca keyboard from Norbauer & Co, that may change. Seneca is not just a keyboard, it is the result of five years of development work to create the ideal device. Every aspect of this keyboard, from acoustic properties to mechanical characteristics, has been carefully considered and balanced. One of the key features of Seneca is its silent stabilizers, which solve the noise problem common to many keyboards. In addition, the keyboard supports various key widths, making it convenient for any user. Although Seneca is not yet available for purchase, it is scheduled for release in late summer. Norbauer & Co's Seneca represents new standards in keyboard design. Her ... >>

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

Gilded Bow Muscles 14.05.2015

Scientists from the National Taiwan University have managed to create artificial muscles from the epidermis of onions.

Existing synthetic polymer-based muscles can contract and flex but, unlike real ones, cannot do both at the same time. During the experiments, the researchers found that the transparent thin film of the skin of the onion shrinks under the influence of electricity and has excellent flexibility.

To make artificial muscles out of it, moisture was removed from the onion skin using freeze-drying, and to remove hemicellulose from the fabric and restore lost flexibility, the sample was treated with sulfuric acid. Then the epidermis was coated on both sides with a layer of gold and cut into thin strips.

Depending on the tension, the muscle bands are able to contract, and the onion test tweezers were able to lift a 0,1 milligram cotton ball. Scientists will continue experiments in practice and hope that the "onion" technology will find its application.
