Every year, traditional types of baits for catching fish are becoming more expensive: cereals, derks, compound feed, etc. The way out is the use of electronic lures. At one time they were popular, but then interest in them gradually disappeared. I offer a tested scheme of electronic bait. Large fish swims to the sounds of low frequency, which are emitted in the reservoir by small crustaceans. A school of small fish, when feeding, makes sounds of a higher frequency, to the sound of which larger fish also gather. The range of pond sounds is from 200 Hz to 13 kHz. Each type of fish produces sounds of its own frequency, as well as sounds of its frequency attract it. The fishermen determine the type of fish and its quantity by the frequency emitted by a flock of fish.

Figure 1 shows a diagram of an electronic lure. The circuit consists of a pause duration multivibrator on the elements DD1.1, DD1.2 and a short pulse shaper on the elements DD1.3, DD1.4. The pause duration shaper is actually a frequency generator. The frequency can be smoothly changed with a variable resistor R2. The load of the short pulse shaper, except for the piezoceramic emitter, can be any telephone capsule with a resistance of 50 ohms.

Figure 2 shows the layout of the printed circuit board of the electronic lure. The device is assembled in any plastic box where a 6F22 (Krona) type battery and a variable resistor with a beak are placed. For the beak, it is desirable to apply digital marks, so that with a successful bite one day, the next time you can set the desired frequency.

The emitter must be well sealed with silicone sealant or epoxy. It is necessary to seal only the edges of the membrane and the wire connections. The membrane itself must be in contact with water, so it is desirable to cover it with a thin layer of waterproof varnish. The wire of the required length must be checked for the integrity of the insulation. To do this, dip it in salted water and measure the resistance between the water and the wire. It should be large (megaohm). It is necessary to start the frequency selection from a lower one, i.e. the slider of the resistor R2 should be in the extreme right position (according to the diagram).

The device consumes low current and the battery lasts for a long time, but the volume decreases. The power switch can be omitted, and after the end of fishing, turn off the battery, and install it in the case without contact with the connector.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Computer mouse controlled by mouth 26.04.2003

In Japan, a computer mouse was invented that does not need to be touched when controlling the cursor. To do this, just blow on it and click your tongue at the right time.

Created with the participation of specialists from the University of Hokkaido, the mouse resembles a microphone on a long stem, installed in front of the monitor just at the level of the user's mouth.

The device is equipped with four sensory membranes. You need to blow in the direction where you want to move the cursor, the membranes automatically pick up the direction of breathing, and when you need to execute a command, the user must click his tongue.
