Focus Description:

Two scarves, preferably of contrasting colors, are tightly twisted and taken in the left hand as shown in fig. 18.

The right hand is brought under the dark handkerchief, clamps end A of the light handkerchief and wraps it once around the dark handkerchief (Fig. 19).

End B of the dark handkerchief is passed behind the light handkerchief, and then carried forward, as shown in Fig. 20.

Ends B and C are connected to each other at the bottom and taken in the right hand. Ends A and D are connected at the top and taken in the left hand (Fig. 21).

Focus Clutched Handkerchiefs

It will seem to viewers that the scarves are securely tied, but as soon as you pull on the ends, they are easily separated. Large silk scarves can be wrapped twice next to each other and then still easily pulled apart.

Focus secret:

The trick is based on the following principle: one series of "wrappings" is, as it were, destroyed by another series of "deployments". The same principle is found in a number of tricks with shoelaces, which can be wrapped around a leg, rod or stick, and then freely removed, as if cutting these objects.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Found celestial body with the shortest year 15.07.2019

Astronomers from the University of Caltech (California, USA) have discovered an asteroid with the shortest year. 2019 LF6 or "Atira" is one of the closest asteroids to the Sun, writes Gizmodo.

The celestial body is so close to the star that the year on it lasts only 151 Earth days, which is the shortest year on all asteroids known to science.

Orbit "Atira" fully corresponds to the trajectory of the Earth around the Sun. The aphelion (the point of the orbit farthest from the Sun) of the asteroid is 0,794 AU, and its perihelion (the point of the orbit closest to the Sun) is 0,317 AU. For example, the Earth's perihelion is 0,983 AU.

The diameter of the asteroid is about 1,3 kilometers. So far, astronomers have too little data to determine the shape of the object.

Previously, the shortest year was considered to be 165 days on asteroid 2019 AQ3.
