Very often it is necessary to connect a large number of office equipment, audio and video equipment (computer, printer, monitor, TV, music center, dvd player, etc.) to the mains, which requires a lot of sockets.

For such purposes, various types of extension cords are used with the required number of sockets, they can be purchased at the store, a good one is expensive or made independently

For work we need:

• flexible copper wire, section 1,5 mm2;
• side cutters;
• passages;
• cutter;
• screwdriver;
• group socket, currently from the manufacturer MAKEL, with four sockets.

An important note, extension cords must not include household appliances that have a large power consumption (washing machines, electric kettles, water heaters, microwave ovens, etc.), they must be provided with stationary single sockets with an individual power line.

Let's take a flexible copper wire with a cross section of 1,5 mm2 and a group socket for four sockets (points) from the manufacturer Makel

The cross section of the wire is less than 1 mm2, I do not recommend using the connection of a group socket, extension cord.

We disassemble the group socket into its component parts.

We unscrew the bolts of the contact connections for free installation of the ends of the supply wire.

We clean the ends of the conductive wires from the insulation, carefully without damaging the threads of the wires, by two to three centimeters.

The wire sheath must be removed so that the length of the insulated sections of the power wires (phase and zero) should be two to three centimeters longer than the distance from the edge of the socket block to the contact connections.

The insulated part of the neutral protective conductor (grounding) must be half as long as the power conductors.

We twist the ends of the conductive wires tightly.

We shorten the twisted ends to one and a half to two centimeters.

After the ends are bent in half and crimped with pliers, for tightness and increase the conductive contact between the bolted connection and the supply wire.

We insert the prepared ends into the contact connections so that the bent end is located to the clamping bolt.

This is done so that when the bolt is tightened, the current-carrying wires are not cut.

We install the connected socket block into the housing, lay the supply and protective wires so that they are not pressed during assembly.

The wire sheath should go inside the case and be fixed with a fixing bar or, as in our version, it is clamped in the case mechanism.

The case can be assembled and connected to household or office equipment.
